Are Dyson Supersonic or Shark Flex hairdryers worth the money?

Does anyone have either of these please?

I have A LOT of fine hair that takes ages to dry. I used a friend’s Dyson dryer on holiday and was amazed how much more quickly I could dry what feels more like a Lion’s mane than hair. I’m just wondering if any one can convince me that they are worth the investment!!!
I’ve also heard good things about the Shark Flex hairdryer but I’ve never tried one- are they just as good?

I currently have a very old GHD one. It’s great for leaving my hair shiny and smooth (and has definitely lasted well!) but still takes a LONG time.

My sister has a shark dryer and loves it. I recently bought a dyson airstraight and its tge best thing ive had. My thick, shoulder length hair is dryed and "done" in ten minutes

I've got an old Parlux and it works great. Not too heavy, has enough settings for me to dry hair without blasting the living hell out of it and is robust. Plus way more affordable than the Dyson/Shark. I've got the airwrap (with a load of other styling heads) which I sometimes use as a dryer/styler but tbh, it was so expensive it was definitely overhyped. Both companies have paid a lot for influencer advertising campaigns and paid placements and I think most of it is hype over actual product performance.

I’ve had a Dyson and to be honest it was crap. My Parlux does the job so much better.

I've got a Dyson and it's been a huge game changer in terms of the condition of my hair. I've got very short grey coarse wiry hair, but there's a lot of it so it's brilliant in terms of speed of drying. My hair is far softer, and I'm chuffed to bits with. All 3 of my DD's have got them too.

This is all so helpful- thanks for your feedback everyone. It seems quite individual/subjective! I guess it depends a lot on hair type and how you want to style it.

I have the Dyson. I like it, it’s good, had it 11 years this Christmas and use it everyday for either my hair or the kids. So I can justify the price.

I have the shark flex style. I went with it as I got a good deal on Amazon and it was significantly cheaper than Dyson. I would recommend watching some reviews on YouTube. I found one that wasn't from an influencer. There are a few pros and cons for shark for me:
it's light and dries my hair faster with less frizz
I like the attachment such as smoothing brush and the blowout brush.
the curl wand thing does work although I've not practiced enough with it, it needs to be used on 80% dry hair.
cons
the buttons are in a weird place and sometimes I press them when I don't need to.
it's quite noisy
you definitely need to practice using it. if you are good at curling and straightening your hair, I would just buy a normal hairdryer.
do I like mine? yes. is it worth the money? I'm still not sure but I do need to practice.

I was sceptical, and had a Dyson air wrap which I was underwhelmed by.

Then, having just gone curly girl (instead of trying to fight against what’s there) I got a good deal on the old style Dyson hairdryer with diffuser on QVC (split over 5 x payments 0% too 👍) and have to say it’s a total game changer - hair looks so much better and dries really quick too.
