Hyperpigmentation Serum

Just saw an advert for Caroline Hirons hyperpigmentation serum and the results look good but it is £90! Has anyone found anything that does the job but for a lot cheaper?

Azelic acid. Not anything over the counter which has minimal percentage in regardless of what it says on the bottle (Anua I’m looking at you).

you need Finicea 15% prescription stuff. I get mine from Boots online. You have to do an online form and send in a picture of your face but it was easy to do. Cheap as chips as well.

You could also use a Vitamin c serum in the morning after the Finicea. I use Elf which again is cheap but from an active ingredient pov is better than expensive brands. Use spf over the top of both.

in the evening use a retinoid or tret. I currently use Medik8 as a retinoid but it is expensive. There’s probably cheaper ones just as good. I get Tret from Turkish chemists when anyone I know goes on holiday there! Only £12 a tube.

I’ve just come back from Turkey and bought a tube of Tret for €13. It normally lasts me nearly a year. Such a bargain!

Thanks! I seem to have an intolerance to vit c weirdly. Every time I've used it I've ended up with facial swelling and puffy frog eyes.

Yeah probably skip the vit c then. I’ve googled the Caroline hirons serum, which I knew before googling would be overpriced for what it is. Seems it’s a niacinamide serum. So if you wanted something similar get The Ordinary niacinamide one which is about £10. I can’t tolerate niacinamide, it clogs my skin but at that price it’s worth trying.

Im using niacinamide followed by alpha arbutin from the Ordinary twice a day, together with a spf 50, and after 2 weeks, i can definitely see a difference in the pigmentation
