Boden: yes or no?

I quite like the look of their knitwear lately but haven’t bought anything from them for years. I used to think they were a bit too frumpy but seems to have improved a bit. Can anyone comment on overall fit and quality lately?

They do jeans and cords that are the right shape & long enough for me so a yes from me.

This autumn their other clothes all look a bit tweedy & tartan for me but the quality is usually good. There might be one or two things I like.

I used to buy loads about 10 years ago, but the prices have got silly now and the quality of the fabric has got worse. So I can’t remember the last time I bought anything from them, which I never thought would be the case.

I find it really hit and miss - last orders I made I sent 4 of the 5 things back because quality of fabric very poor.

I used to buy loads but nothing now for years.

That said there’s usually a few bits that catch my eye each season - the type of thing you’d mix and match in with the rest of your wardrobe rather than go on a spending spree and go crazy.

I just ordered a wool coat - and hope I love it as much as I think I will.

I've given up on most pieces as I've hardly kept anything in years.

I am tempted by Wyse this autumn....they have finally moved on from puffy shoulders.

martipants · 04/09/2026 20:20

I have generally found their quality pretty reliably good and their sizing consistent (so rare and important with online shopping). I would say I get a disproportionate number of compliments for my Boden clothes.

SwanUpmanship · 04/09/2026 20:26

I've gone off them, the quality isn't what it once was.

ArcticBells · 04/09/2026 20:31

I used to buy loads but the prices are ridiculous now and also I think I’ve moved on.

Justploddingonandon · 04/09/2026 20:31

i still quite like some of their dresses, though did have to send about half of my last order back as they were so thin they were practically see through.

macaroon8 · 04/09/2026 20:33

Think they've got some lovely tartan at the moment

Hadn’t bought from them for over a decade. But bought suede ballet pumps in the sale this summer. Absolutely love them and worn them to death. However they aren’t repeating the style and the new version look stiffer and not what I’m after. So that might be me and Biden done for another decade!

KomodoIsland · 08/09/2026 19:53

I am returning the coat. It is a fine coat but I do not love it, and at that price I need to love it. .

MyManinCaracas · 08/09/2026 20:09

I usually buy one or two items in spring and autumn. I got a striped long sleeve polo in April and I’ve worn it loads, but I also got a maxi dress that I loved and have only worn it once since May.
