What shoes would you wear with a navy shirt dress and tights?

I have the joules shirt dress in navy (image may be under review) which falls on my knee, thick cotton, mid length sleeves, can be worn with a shirt collar or tuck the collar in to make it a round neck.
It’s been good to wear on cooler summer days, I paired it with chunky black sandals.
Now it’s going into autumn I’d like to wear it with thick tights…..but which shoe?
Please give me some suggestions for what you might pair with this dress!

I would wear it with my yellow Barkers brogues.

Thank you, I did wonder about tan ankle boots, and a funky twist with the yellow brogues thought…I had considered: a bright red ballet flat (controversial!!), a black Mary Jane (hmm not quite right) or leopard print flats!!
