Shiny new thread just in time for the new season - I'm thinking smoky, spicy gourmands as we head through autumn.

Golden Milk BTSO today. I absolutely love this one, strange as I know others have smelled sour milk. funny how our noses can all be so different!

I’m not getting any of the FACs this year, but someone on Reddit was reselling Musk Therapy at a decent price so that’s on its way to me; that and Rehab are the only Initio that I like but the full bottle price is outside my budget.

SOTD is Commodity Milk layered with IDKW, my current fave woody vanilla combination.

Advententhusiast · 12/10/2026 09:39

The Jeroboam today from the Harrods frag. I dont like it straight away but the dry down agrees with me. Def not a repeat purchase but nice to have regardless

Lurkingshark · 12/10/2026 11:38

@MiaN id be interested in the rituals smells. I don’t like the limited edition vibes but very accessible.

I'm waiting on HNFAC- I’d definitely get it at a discount but there are a few of them which I don’t like, though 2/3 a yes. I’m pleased it’s not very gourmandy, as I find those difficult. Do we reckon it will be discounted?

SOTD Opera infernal - liberty summer kit. My limit of fruity sweetness

HolidayHattie · 12/10/2026 14:09

Which strength of Commodity Milk do you use? Sounds like a good combination.

HolidayHattie · 12/10/2026 14:16

@Lurkingshark There are too many in HNFAC I don't want. I've given away so many Molecules 01 and I can't believe it's still in so many edits and calendars.

It will need a big discount for me to buy it.

Still desperate for SFAC.

Lurkingshark · 12/10/2026 14:28

Yes the elasticiser of the perfume world. I don’t NEED any of them so will wait for a discount.

My guess is it won't be discounted, purely because they massively overstocked last year, so will have lost £££, and I reckon the numbers will be tighter this year.

I’m using the personal (white) version, I found the bold/expressive a bit strong for my taste, whereas this is just the right level of warm sweetness. TBH I find it more of a toasted vanilla than milk, but I still really like it!

OvaHere · 12/10/2026 18:32

Wore OJ Suede Silhouette today from SFAC. A bit like the FdB this is one I don't love on first spray as it seems quite leathery but once I've had it on an hour or two I really like it as the leather fades a bit and the sweetness comes through.

demantoid · 12/10/2026 19:05

SOTD is Abel Double Scoop, from the Liberty BD. I didn't expect to like it; really disliked the super-synthetic top notes, but have actually really enjoyed wearing it through the day, once it had settled down.

It's an ideal daytime, cosy autumn fragrance. It's more gourmand than I'd like: I'm going to experiment with layering.

CorneliaStreet · 12/10/2026 19:24

Cold and wet weather here today so I’ve put on Black Opium this evening for the first time in months.

IDontHateRainbows · 12/10/2026 19:57

Merit retrospect extrait de parfum tonight. This is a strange combination of notes but I quite like it.

I really like this scent. I bought it about 18 months ago. It has a really nostalgic vibe. Hence the name I guess.

MiaN · 12/10/2026 20:17

Nishane Wulong Cha has potential! 👍 👌 💛

By the way I have and I really like full bottle of Initio Lift me up. Give it a skin test if you have the SFAC, it's better in skin

oh yes, never thought of that.

I also have burberry goddess on the other hand which is a lovely designer frag with I think lavender in it

Jo Malone basil, lime whatever this morning. Pleasant but disappeared within the hour.

The Sisley eau de soir. Better, but also no real staying power.

liberty Zepherine from the Dropbox this evening. This I really do like. Will wear again soon. Could imagine getting into this one.

IDontHateRainbows · 13/10/2026 07:24

Ormonde Jayne Levant. This is a yellow floral vanilla.

Also Abel the apartment, a rum and cherry concoction.

Le Labo The Matcha 26 from the sfac. This reminds me of a creamier gris charnel, I love it 🥰

I would love to get my hands on travel size of Levant. Some others from the brand too

rum and cherry sounds good re Abel

It was in the fenwick AC so must be loads about.

Also tried the patchouli gourmand again - it's an interesting one, not love at first sniff but a grower.

Good luck to anyone who is trying to get a SFAC today. I can guarantee the scalpers will be reducing the prices in a few weeks if you can't. That's what happened with HFAC anyway.

Abel is fast becoming my new fave house, although I wasn't too keen on the double scoop. Laundry day is gorge! They were doing sets of 3 x 6ml in liberty but don't seem to be on the website any more. I got the last warm set on the shelf when I made a store visit last month.
