I am bored of work wardrobe - how much variety do you have?

Not sure what I am asking, perhaps some perspective…

I have always been a conservative dresser with my own style, I like Reiss / VB / Mango sleek minimalism with occasional dab into 70s vibe for smart wear. Still wearing heels for work, especially on the flares day 🙈

I went from one or two days in the office to full week in July, so bought a few more items. It’s very cold in the office (long story) and it’s modest dressing dress code. Everyone looks smart but not fashion forward. I have neutral 3 blazers and 4 trousers that I mix and match, jeans sometimes. I prefer short sleeve shell tops / whitest shirts under blazers to push the sleeves up, so my sassy silk blouses are now for weekend, it’s too cold for blouses only.

I came to feel bored of what feels like wearing the same thing, those 3 damn blazers. I don’t feel smart in knitwear, so don’t wear cardigans or jumpers at work.

What should I do, buy more blazers, perhaps experiment with colours, textures, shapes? Will they still feel like wearing the same thing? I like the concept of uniform, less decision making on what to wear but also feel like I am a bit resentful of repetitive dressing.

Just wondering how much variety others have in work dressing and if you try to buy the best you can afford, how much workwear do you have? Do you accessorise more for variety? It should not matter, work is just work, but it’s long hours and makes you feel good to enjoy what you are wearing…

Office is always cold for me too so I always have to wear a jacket/blazer.
I have been switching it up by wearing cinched waist short trench coats, leather blazer and that new style blazer that buttons just at the top with a nehru style collar. I’ve also just got a tweed plaid style blazer in a burgundy.
I also wear tight ish midi skirts in leather or woollen fabrics usually with a side split.
Sometimes a more structured dress but I still need a jacket/blazer. I wish they would turn the AC off!

Wanted to say thank you to @HeyPrune, appreciate your detailed response and it's not just the OP that's going benefit from your approach. Some quality brands there I've never heard of and am excited to try!

Yes, thank you very much @HeyPrune

If it helps Hobbs are present in a lot of outlet malls and have good sales. I've had a couple of nice dresses from there, which I wear with tights and big boots in winter, which might not be the look you're going for. But I can wear a thermal base layer underneath without it showing.

Could you add some midi dresses to your repertoire? Then you don't need a blazer maybe . I wear a lot in the summer, fewer in the winter as I'm not hugely keen on tights.

I had a job in a more formal environment for the last year and needed to buy clothes quickly - I found Massimo Dutti was very good for that. Tops from Zara too. My dresses are mostly from me & em I think plus a couple from Cos. I got a shirt dress from Zara that I got complimented on a lot.

Starting a new job in a less formal place in a couple of weeks so will wear more straight jeans probably plus fitted jackets (I've veered away from blazers into shorter, more fitted jackets). I never wear heels though! (I just cba now ).
