Inspiration needed!

I’m looking for some inspiration for a wardrobe refresh - can anyone recommend any good websites/social media accounts where I can look for ideas please?
I’m late 50s, 5’8”, size 12-14, very pale so don’t like showing any cleavage or leg, like to be comfortable rather than fashionable but would like to look a bit more “together”
I don’t mind spending a bit for good quality but can’t afford designer prices. Ive tended to impulse buy in the sales and now have several items in my wardrobe that I’ll probably never wear…I’ve tended to buy stuff from m&s, Hobbs, boden, Seasalt and have found them all a bit hit and miss.
if anyone has any suggestions I’d be very grateful x

Sites like Next and John Lewis sell lots of brands so worth a browse. Cotton Traders, White Stuff Roman, Live Unlimited and Joe Browns are good.
For comfort and some basics try EWM for separates or Bon Marche. Tu at Sainsbury’s worth a look too.

@Strumpetpumpet why do you feel comfort and fashion are diametrically opposed? It’s absolutely not necessarily so.

(At least you won’t need to trouble your alterations service with hem shortening on every dress and skirt.)

Perfect slouchy leisurewear. The new season looks great but there’s also a permanent outlet section on the same site.

Lots of interesting shapes and colours and usually generous amounts of good quality fabrics.

You probably need to define what sort of style you want. Hobbs and Seasalt have very different aesthetics.

I'd search on Pinterest to find looks you like. You can ask AI for help on where to find specific items in the outfit (not the same, but similar).

I really love Melissa Murrell’s account on Instagram and she loads of videos on YouTube. She has completely changed the way I used to dress and I feel much more put together now. She mostly wears high street clothes. Her videos suggest ways to dress for the everyday woman and gives styling advice to cover problem body areas.

(Actually, if you sort in ascending price order on SN you’ll see they do still have some sale items - now upper High St prices. The photos don’t do the fabrics justice; sizes are generous, (look at all the measurements they provide,) and their knitwear is really excellent. All my pre-Covid stuff is still good as new despite repeated wearing, and a newer dress garners compliments every time I wear it.)

In case it needs spelling out - there is almost never any need to pay full price unless you really want to. There are always sales.

I was going to mention Melissa but I think a lot of her content has gone behind a pay wall.

@TheOGCCLI’ve paid 😂 I don’t really need to see many of her historic videos to dress problem areas as I’m very lucky to be a size 8 with a flat stomach (sorry I know that sounds braggy). However she provides so much great content I I’m happy to pay £5 per month to support her.
