Sézane relaunch - did I miss it?

I thought Sézane was planning a major relaunch - rediscovering their mojo and upping their game. Did I miss something, nothing seems to have changed with today’s offering. Such a shame.

Yes, everyone is bitching about it online. Big price jump and apparently shit clothes

Dopop · 23/08/2026 21:21

Oh I didn't know about this at all. But I'm on holiday so I'm a bit out of the loop anyway. I have to see this. Interesting to hear that everyone is up in arms about it.

I used to quite like BA&SH too but that went to pot a few years back. Or maybe it was me who changed?

user593 · 23/08/2026 21:52

I also didn’t think it looked any different. I didn’t notice the price hike though - probably haven’t paid enough attention to prices over the years. I’m going to pop in store tomorrow to see if I can get a look at it in person.

I used to love Sézane, it felt special, classy and something I saved for but knew I would love. I had to really justify the things I bought but I never regretted buying them and they are still in my wardrobe and making me happy years later.
Over the last few years I think they have become fast fashion, churning out collection after collection and, for me, they are no longer aspirational. I really hoped they were returning to their roots, seems I am wrong. Such a shame.

So I bought a few bits of their Summer collection which were brilliant (the Inoui collab particularly) but the relaunch made me recoil, if only from the prices. £170 for a jumper? No thanks.

Drivingmissrangey · 23/08/2026 22:33

£110 for a silk shirt is still pretty good value. But I aways think they are a bargain compared to some of their other pieces.

There are some of the old classics they do that I buy on repeat in various colours (Chlo shirts , Ciara trousers for example) that I think are reasonably priced. But agree that some of the other stuff is overpriced rubbish.

I do like some of the leather items.

You didn’t miss anything
I think the quality has declined

MidnightMeltdown · 23/08/2026 23:16

I used to buy a lot from Sézane but haven’t shopped there for a least a couple of years. Mainly because I felt that I already had enough ‘Sézane style’ stuff in my wardrobe.

Just had a quick look and can’t say that I’ve noticed much difference in prices. It looks like a few bits have sold out so someone must still be liking it!

MidnightMeltdown · 23/08/2026 23:17

Maybe this is why the quality has declined. They are charging the same sorts of prices as 5 years ago, but presumably costs must have increased.

HotAndHassled · 23/08/2026 23:24

Another thing that bugs me is that they don’t have reviews - they really help with online shopping and as often as not they help to make a sale. I am always suspicious of companies that don’t have reviews.

I trawl Vinted for Chlo shirts - they’re good workwear.

I liked the collection in person. It was mainly knitwear they had in store though. I walked away with the Thèo jumper in dark chocolate, which was put in a canvas tote in keeping with the new branding. I was also really tempted by a lovely green cowl neck jumper I can’t find on the website, but green isn’t my colour. The Suzanne tote was lovely too, but I have far too many bags. They had the black in store which is sold out online.

Itsnouse · 24/08/2026 16:00

I thought to the most significant difference was the change in style direction. Gone are the prints and that 70s Boho vibe to be replaced by something much more contemporary. Their new look does not seem to be distinctively different from many other brands.

Redandblue11 · 24/08/2026 17:50

Yes the main difference is that it does not look like Sezane. It looks more like a scandi / contemporary brand … which while I like the overa aesthetic, makes me feel a bit confused as their niche style is lost, and while I wasn’t an absolute fan, I bought a couple of things in the past from them and I thought they had a reasonable business model and identity… maybe I was wrong

user593 · 24/08/2026 18:23

I think a lot of the blouses still look boho. I guess time will tell. It will be more obvious in the Spring/Summer collections. Autumn is always inclined to be more subtle anyway.
