Tomato-scented lotion

Does anyone know of an inexpensive one that smells lovely? I see that Loewe do a tomato leaves body lotion, but at £72, it’s a bit beyond my budget. I have found several others via Google, including an RHS one, but just thought I’d see if anyone here had a recommendation. Thanks in advance!

I used to love Les Belles de Ricci which was very tomatoey! But long gone sadly so following with interest!

I just pop into my greenhouse and faff around a bit with my tomato plants and come out smelling deliciously tomatoey. DH always comments on how nice I smell and he never says to when I spray expensive perfume on me! I do realise that this is wholly unhelpful for you but I do understand that it's a lovely smell!

Waitingfordoggo · 22/08/2026 18:31

It really is a lovely smell! I don’t like perfume and find a lot of scents too sweet or cloying- especially vanilla or very floral smells. Tomato is just earthy and clean, and really nostalgic too- makes me think of my dad and grandad 💚🍅

I had some Ach Brito tomato soap a while ago which was divine but they don’t seem to do a lotion.

I think Jo Malone does a tomato leaf scent.

Oooh thanks @ApolloandDaphne, I’ll have a look.

This thread gave me a good laugh. Really, laughter I needed today.

I am allergic to artificial
fragrance and tomatoes. The idea that there are people walking around trying to combine the two is not something I ever expected.

Reason number 82637 to keep myself locked inside my house I guess.

Not a personal recommendation, but Arkive ‘Smells Like No-one Elsie’ says it has Tomato as one of the top notes, and several reviews mention how it’s reminiscent of wandering into a greenhouse!
It’s currently half price at Amazon - £15. People also mention picking it up for a few pounds at TKMaxx.

I LOVED (still love!) Les Belles De Ricci and still have a nearly-full bottle. It's still divine.
I also have the Jubilee dupe: https://www.jubileescents.co.uk/products/inspired-by-les-belles-de-ricci-nr302?keyword=les%20belles%20de%20ricci
Other rave it is as good as the original. To my nose it is not, but if you can't get the original, it's good enough, imo, and a bargain.

I also have:
https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Brocard/List-a-tomata-i-cernoj-smorodiny-Tomato-and-Black-Currant-Leaves-46452.html

which is now unavailable as far as I can tell. It's not really as nice as LBdR, but ok.

Sorry I haven't got any lotion solutions.

Inspired by NR302 - Les Belles De Ricci

Les Belles de Ricci is a Floral Fruity fragrance for women. Top notes are Tomato Leaf, Basil, Mint and Orange; middle notes are Tomato Flower, Cyclamen, Magnolia and Freesia; base notes are Raspberry and Fig Leaf.

Wow- brilliant, thanks for the responses, good to have somewhere to look now. I’ve got a birthday coming up so will direct DH/DCs to some links.

Eeek @Ponderingwindow! Hopefully our paths will never cross!

Came on to say this. I have it and I love it - it's like a mix of tomato and rhubarb. Fairly decent longevity too and a reasonable price

Waitingfordoggo · 22/08/2026 23:32

Tomato and rhubarb sounds delicious. I’m not sure I can do perfume- I don’t own any and haven’t worn perfume for about 30 years- just always find them too overwhelming. Could try adding a drop to a plain moisturiser I suppose. 🤔

I think you're the only one laughing. Tomato leaf scents are a thing.

My DD is a fan of AKT. ( I think that's right) Balm deodorant. There's one scent that has a tomato leaf smell . Cannot check right now though.

IDontHateRainbows · Today 08:51

Best tomato leaf scent I've tried is Maison Margiela from the garden. Close runner up Miller Harris Celadon.

Waitingfordoggo · Today 08:55

Thanks everyone; you’ve given me lots to investigate.
