Which bag for work?

I’m stuck on which bag to get for work. It’s between a rucksack that I already have in grey. It’s very practical and pretty cheap. I like it, but I’m thinking of a change. The other option is a tote bag, but it may kill my shoulders. it’s much more expensive.

I carry a lot of stuff around with me—laptop, charger, notebook, books, papers, coffee cup etc etc so I need something large. The back pack is 17L and the tote is 22L.

Which do you prefer?

I have the rucksack. It’s worn well and does the job, carrying laptop, notebook, papers, lunch etc.

it’s also relatively easy to carry, given the weight of all the kit.

id worry that the tote bag would be too heavy to carry over one shoulder.

I’ve got that rucksack and it’s great, fits everything including my full sized laptop and lunch.

I think you’ve answered your own question: if you carry a lot of stuff get the rucksack for the sake of your back and shoulders!

That's a nice backpack. I think it looks less professional to see someone with a laptop and work things stuffed into a tote bag. Or do you mean a smart laptop tote like a kind of briefcase?
Unless you have a wafer thin laptop I would stick to the backpack and look after your back.

Definitely the backpack. I also have one and it holds loads and looks smart i.e. it doesn't collapse in on itself! From your link the Black Rose design is very cute.

It seems that there’s a consensus! And DH would be delighted if i only spend £20😀
