After most of my life being a jeans and a top person, or occasionally a skirt and a top person, I discovered I feel comfier in dresses. It was a bit of a revelation just how comfy! It was a simple jersey dress with a scoop neck, below knee and with a slight fit at the waist. I only bought it in a hurry to deal with the heatwave and still can't get my head around how great it felt.
Not only that but I looked better, which was a surprise, too. I very rarely receive compliments and got 2 that day
Since i've sod all experience with dresses, how would i transition over whilst avoiding mad patterns, flounciness and looking too precious? Stick to simple jersey shapes?
I've spent years wondering why i cant tolerate bunching at the waist or faffing with the hem length of tops or the crotch length of trousers so this was a revelation, but it still feels a bit alien to me.
Would you follow it and go with it or would you just keep going with the trousers and top because it's familiar? I know wearing tights through winter limits shoe styles a bit (I wear docs or converse mostly), especially colour if the tights are black. Anyone with experience of this wishing to share what you think would be so helpful, thank you!
