Gucci Jordaans

I've been back at work for 3 weeks following a year of maternity leave. It's a senior corporate job but our office is casual unless we have client meetings.

I've got 2 young children and am so sick of slobbing around in leggings at the weekend I had this idea to build a beautifully created work wardrobe full of quality items that will last years. A smarter, more polished version of me if you will.

Today I treated myself to a pair of Gucci Jordaan loafers. Unusually for me, I went for the brown suede. I think they'll look great styled with jeans and a blazer for the office.

I'm debating whether the black leather would be the better buy (could be worn with tights for example). Or does the brown suede give more personality to corporate dullness?

If your original feeling was to buy the brown I would stick with the brown, they sound gorgeous! I totally agree with dressing up for work I love buying work clothes. I feel like the brown loafers would also look good with a skirt and tights, especially brown tights. I just got some sheer brown tights after reading they are the colour of the season again and now I want to get some loafers haha! Definitely stick with the brown :)

Thanks!

When I got home it was pouring with rain which made me think that the brown suede is probably totally impractical (I'm in Scotland). I also had tomato soup at lunch and started thinking about what would happen if I accidentally splashed some on them 😂 They are lovely though.

Thinking that the black leather is a better buy overall?

Keep the brown suede for dry days and buy green leather for the inevitable rainy days, sorted!

i think you have your heart set on the brown leather, so you should keep them.

i have a few suede items and i have a suede brush and use a waterproofer treatment to keep them in good condition. i won’t wear my suede items if i think it will rain, but have been caught out in light showers and they have been fine.

Dry days and autumn in Scotland is a bit of a paradox 😂

I genuinely think the black would go with more. Aaargh if money was no object I'd buy both!
