Recommendations for a work backpack for a young professional man

Can anyone recommend a good backpack for a young adult man starting their first professional
job.

Must have space for a small laptop and a water bottle pocket.

Ideally waterproof as he generally walks to work and it’s a 45 minute walk.

There are a lot of Rains backpacks on the tube in rush hour. They would fit the bill.

Do they want you to choose their work bag or would they maybe like to pick it themself? I would be unhappy if my mum or DP had chosen a bag for me when I was taking my first step into the world of work, it’s so personal.

He’s asked for a bag for his birthday. He’s very easy going, not into labels. Just wants something better than the Addidas backpack that he’s been using since 6th form!

I use Roka. Waterproof and has a laptop pocket.

What is his style? I use a Patagonia backpack with laptop sleeve which is great and hard wearing. But maybe he wants something more formal?

style Is laid back, workplace is smart causal to casual. Think he’d prefer a typical backpack style of bag rather than one of the roll top ones.

I came to say osprey, very comfy to wear and a nice padded pocket to protect laptop. My dh primarily uses it for work but I’ve on occasion used it for short day hikes.
