Ingrown hairs and exfoliating acids

Hi everyone. Anyone get this problem, ingrown hairs? I always get it when I shave a lot in the summer to wear shorts. I am very hairy, with very thick, dark hair on my legs, pubic area, armpits... ha ha and on my head, but happy for that to stay 😂

To stay stubble free, I have to shave every two days, such a pain. I use an Aldi men's razor and change the blade regularly. Still get the pesky ingrown hairs and I will pluck them, which causes inflammation and I do have some scar like marks, which eventually heal when I stop shaving as much as winter comes in. I used to be keen swimmer in my younger days and don't remember having this problem, so maybe it's a perimenopause thing?

I've read that salicylic acid is a good treatment for the bumps and marks. Anyone had any success with it? I have a bottle of AHA and BHA in the bathroom but was using it on my face and wondered if it would help with the hair issue. It's only really my inner thighs and some of my pubic area that is affected. I get them occasionally in my armpits but not as much as my groin and it feels and looks so awful.

I've tried exfoliating mitts and special soap, Moroccan soap, African soap, this that and the other, but no difference. Anyone help?

The only thing that worked was spending silly money on a Philips Lumea and lasering the hair off. It has paid for itself massively over five years though.

No exfoliating or moisturising ever worked for me I'm afraid.

inkey list glycolic acid stick is good for this.

Oh wow, the Phillips Lumea works? For some reason I always thought they were a gimmick! Tell me more!

also highly recommend Phillips Lumea if you have Caucasian skin. Life changing for me.
I used to find sudocrem helped massively with razor rash.

Oh wow, great, thanks! Another recommendation!

I'll check it out, thank you, I have some healing to do!

I was really upset about something last night and started plucking. BIG mistake!

Just checking the ingredients and it's primarily lactic acid, which I have upstairs. Interesting. Once my sore bits are healed over, I may give that a try.

This model. Purchased in Dec 2020. It was around £300 but I think they're more expensive now. In retrospect I didn't need the cordless version as I'm not bothered about doing my underarms or face.
I had a problem the first couple of times I zapped as I used the highest levels (4 and 5) and it caused loads of angry, inflamed pimples. Left it a month to settle then carefully started re-zapping on the lower levels while my legs got used to it. Took about 18 months to get all the hair, I used to have very hair legs.

Thank you, that's a great help.
