Hair removal - legs

I’ve waxed my legs my whole life, but I’m fed up with the faff and the in between stage and I’m willing to start shaving … or anything that gives me smooth legs without red and ingrown hairs.

I have a shaver on my epilator but it didn’t get close enough. I used DH’s razor and gel, but still got red bumps.

What do you do to get lovely smooth pins? What do you use? How?

Is there a shaver that works brilliantly that I could run over my legs every morning?

I shave, always exfoliation before, plenty of foam. I use imperial leather marshmallow, and let the rasor do the work. I find DP Gillette mens razor is fine, just use your own blade ☺️

I use the one with built in soap, not the cheapest option but faff free and gets good results (though without glasses in the shower I do miss bits!) intuition they are called

Laser treatment done professionally. You won’t look back. I’ve not had to worry about it for 20 years! I’m sure the tech is even better now!

That’s the (unaffordable to me) dream

What do you use to exfoliate? Dry brush or salt scrubs?

Lush salt scrub, and plenty of body puff action . And then use the body puff again for a polish after shaving and rinsing

Has anyone tried shaving bars, instead of cans of foam/gel. I find bars so much easier when travelling.

I stopped with trying to get totally razor smooth (the first stubble growth is just too irritating) and use a Phillips One Blade. It shaves the hair down to basically a soft fuzz - no more irritating regrowth - and whilst not shiny smooth it's also hardly noticeably different day to day

Doesn’t work for fine hair so quite limited

I use exfoliating moisturiser everyday, that’s what makes the difference to me.

I epilate but it’s a pain, gone back to the stinky cream, that’s not as bad as it used to be but does need leaving on much longer than stated

Do yourself a favour and get lasered. I haven't touched a razor in years.

Do you shave with or against the grain? Makes a big difference to me

Against? Is that correct?

I get a terrible rash if I shave against. Going with the hair growth take a little longer but its much more gentle. Might be worth a try 😊

I use cheap conditioner as a shave gel and Bic miss soleil razors. Always in the shower, then moisturiser afterwards. The only times I’ve ended up with a rash is when I’ve not been in the shower.

I use hair removal cream and sometimes a can of veet removal cream. Both work well and no worries about cuts from a blunt shaver.

Laser! You’ll be surprised by how cheap it is… not much more expensive than waxing too.

These days I shave in the shower, using conditioner or shower gel to go smoothly. I prefer going against the grain, but am more likely to nick my skin if I do, so I go downwards first.
When I was younger and slightly hairier and cared more, I used wax strips that you heat by rubbing them between your hands, you can get ones for short hairs.

I’ve just bought some Gillette venue deluxe smooth blades and they’re the best ones ever! Lovely smooth legs and no razer rash.

A few lasering sessions has made a big difference to mine (previously a lot of very dark leg hair on milk bottle white skin). I'm currently on a break- due to antibiotics that are incompatible with razors, and it is something like £125 a throw for me- and have gone back to using men's razors to get rid of the bits that the lasering hasn't yet obliterated.

I wax my armpits have done for years my go-to is Nads the green 'no heat' one and fabric wax strips . Re useable and so much better .My pit hairs are so fine and sparse even if they're long they're hardly visible. Legs ,I use an epilator.
The best exfoliation was Body shop Pink Grapefruit scrub it doesn't leave a coating on the skin but I don't think they do it now

Hair removal cream. The cheap £2 stuff from Savers.

I use soap and water to shave my legs. I've never thought of using shaving foam or conditioner. Doesn't it clog the razor?
