Work Summer Picnic Networking Event

I have an event coming up at a Cricket Ground in a hospitality tent. It’s a work event with external partners. The invite says ‘Dress to Impress’ for a summer picnic.

I’m regular height, size 8, typically prefer column style dresses but not sure I should go for something else for this event. No idea what I should be opting for as I’ve neither watched cricket nor been to this type of networking event before.

It sounds like it will be awful. The fact that the phrase 'dress to impress' is even used means that the organisers are thinking of whatever would be fashionable 40 years ago. I would suggest a block colour shirt dress with good accessories.
