Never thought I’d be so boring!

We are just having a dressing room fitted which has been a life goal!!

I would love to have all the same hangers as currently it’s a total hodge podge and looks awful for open wardrobes

I love the look of wooden but things just slide off and they take up quite a bit of room, the black plastic ones are easiest but getting the right type is tricky!

Help mumsnettrrs what are your favourite hangers

My vote goes to the one you've dismissed - wooden hangers.

Not sure why clothes are falling off them though? Mine don't do that.

Admittedly they do take up more space - I like them though x

I have light grey thin velvet type ones brilliant for keeping clothes actually on the hanger and take up minimal room

I like the John Lewis Cedar hangers - particularly the wide shouldered suit hangers.

I love the look of wooden hangers but black plastic Ikea ones are brilliant, big enough with good loops for hanging things like strappy tops.

My inner snarky student self wants to say something snide about bourgeois dressing rooms but actually I’m really envious!

I use thin flocked ones, which free up lots more space. They come in all different colours and pack sizes.

Yes, me too. Clothes don't slide off, they're light and thin.

I like the colour and the fact they’re lightweight and plastic (anything metal near wood makes me anxious about scratches!).

Previously we had velvet ones which broke/ warped easily and attracted dust.
