Thinking about Botox or alternatives

I want to do something to look younger/prevent premature aging. I already use retinol and vitamin c as part of a good skin care regime. I am now thinking about Botox (subject to views??)

Two questions:

  1. How does anyone find good Botox in their local area? What price demonstrates quality? If I google it, I find endless AI slop articles. I live in London!
  2. What else is there that isn’t Botox? What are the pitfalls of Botox?

thank you everyone!

Why not just drink plenty of water, eat healthy and exercise regularly? What’s wrong with looking your age?
Botox is so false and can be spotted by anyone.

Agree with PP, botox is so false and it's usually very obvious when someone has had it - which makes me assume that the person is "older" anyway, which surely defeats the object of trying to make yourself look younger!

Botox is good! I pay £250 for crows' feet and 11s. Has to be kept up though. Now thinking about something more invasive but will continue Botox meanwhile.

I’ve tried Botox but it isn’t for me. I ended up being really sensitive to it, weirdly it affected the left side of my face differently than the right. So it seemed to take ages to wear off and I just am not brave enough to try again with a lesser amount. But if I ever changed my mind I’d go to my dentist who is trained (and has since been highly recommended). She is obviously very knowledgeable about the face musculature and to be honest I’d completely trust her!

Oh and I paid £190 which is the going rate where I am.

I’m in the same boat. I have hooded eyes and forehead Botox which is what I need, can cause the eyebrows to drop or look heavy so I’ve decided against at it.
I’ve decided to focus on the quality of my skin instead and am planning to even put my skin tone with IPL treatments and then start regular Microneedling to boost collagen. Might also give profhilo a go.

Part of my job is speaking to lots of different women, who are more than happy to share the treatments that they have. So, for me, it's word of mouth.

I had botox in my forehead, 11s and crows feet and paid £160. I can still very much raise my brows and very much doubt that anyone would be able to tell that I've had it, were I not to tell them. I only had a little bit though, I don't want to be completely frozen. I just wanted to take a rest from my RBF 😂

@IndieRocknRollyeah, I’ve decided to concentrate on my skin too and go for regular facials which will hopefully pay off in the long run!

Have a look for reviews on RealSelf. I use Botox, though the amount I have injected has reduced as I have aged, as it can make your eyelids heavy. A good practitioner will explain all that, though. Look for someone fully medically qualified, not just a nurse or beautician.

I spend £170 for Botox on 11s and upper forehead. I’m 45. My skin is pretty good apart from those areas. It’s not obvious at all despite what other posters have said. I can still move my forehead but I look a bit smoother.

I would ask for recommendations in a local facebook group or ask your friendship group. My Botox lady was recommended by a friend whose face looks good lol.
