Beauty buys in Portugal similar to Spain

I usually holiday in Spain and love picking up health & beauty bits in pharmacies there and also in Mercadona! I'm heading to Portugal soon and just wondering if there are similar bargains to be had there. We'll be staying near Albufeira but there's no Mercadona there. Is there a Portugese equivalent? Are the pharmacies as good for beauty bargains? Are there shops like Primor or Druni? Thanks in advance Smile

I live in Spain with a Mercadona down the road and I’ve never noticed any amazing beauty buys. It all looks rubbish! What am I missing? Primor is good I admit and Sephora, but the pharmacies here aren’t renowned for beauty bargains. They’re expensive and have limited range. Boots is way better. I’ll swap you Mercadona for boots.

Maybe it's just because it's different?! I've got serums that I've really liked using, facial SPF, body lotions, hair masks, mascara, eye pencils, foot cream... all sorts really. There have been many threads on here about it over the years.

Hoping others who like a Spanish drug-store or supermarket haul might have some recommendations for similar Portuguese offerings!

Not beauty products but the cheapo chain store Parfois is wonderful for on trend bags and accessories. Cheap enough that it doesn't matter if the item you buy doesn't wear especially well (although everything I've bought has done better than I expected) but very very good at stuff that elevates everyday supermarket clothing.

If you were going to Porto there's a fab soap shop, Claus Porto. You might find them in nicer pharmacies elsewhere.

I love Parfois! Have bought a few lovely pieces from there over the years. Glad to hear they have stores in Portugal, thank you!

I also live in Spain and think the same! I’ve never shopped in Mercadona for beauty products!
