Has anyone had liposuction?

I’m wondering if anyone has and was it a success? Did anything go wrong?

I have a stubborn area on my lower abdomen that has never shifted either with cutting back on sugary snacks or doing exercises. There is a private hospital in my home town and I know the surgeons are GMC registered.

No I haven’t, I considered either fat freezing or lipo for my little tummy pouch but got told it was mostly loose skin from large pregnancy bumps so these wouldn’t fix it.

Would be interested to know if people mid 40s have had it and did their skin ping back or were they left with loose skin.

I had it on my double chin after losing a lot of weight. Painful recovery and its quite brutal but worked really well and no complications.

Can I ask did the skin also shrink back, and how old were you at the time of lipo?

I’m mid 50s and have had a bulge for a long time. This was even when I was a lot thinner. I may book to see a consultant in the new year. I have Bupa but I know I can’t go through that!

I had lipo and a tummy tuck 8 weeks ago. No regrets

I had liposuction twice about six and eight months after my DIEP breast reconstruction to tidy up the dog ears at either side of my scar, which ran from the outside of one hip to the outside of the other, and to reduce the size of my reconstructed breast slightly. I had it done under general anaesthetic both times and went out for lunch with friends the day after the second time. I didn’t find it particularly painful afterwards but the bruising was spectacular - after a couple of days, I was completely black and purple from my rib cage to my knees. But it worked well and evened everything out.

After the second season, I took a photo of the bruising to send to my daughter who was at university at that time and captioned it ‘look at my magnificent buttocks’. Unfortunately, my finger must have slipped when I clicked on her email address and I actually sent the photo to the headteacher of a large secondary school thst I was working with at the time 🤣🤣

I emailed him when I realised and said it had been intended for my daughter. He knew I had had cancer treatment, and just replied to say that he assumed it was intended for someone else 🤣. He never mentioned it when I saw him after that, other than to ask if my recovery was still going well. He was very discrete about it. Or at least I hope he was, and my buttocks weren’t circulated around the headteachers’ forum 🤣🤣
