Does accessorize do ear piercing?

Anyone had any experience of this? I want my third holes done, and noticed they have a little area in the shop, but I’m wondering if the shop assistant will actually have any experience. Claires have all shut as well haven’t they?

Yes they do piercing it’s a like a stool in the corner of our local one but it could be any of the staff doing this I suppose! I’m sure they must have had training tho!!!

Claire’s is shut as have a lot of the big department stores who used to do it.

Retail staff in places like accessorize could be absolutely fine…. Or not I guess it depends on who you get. My dd doesn’t want hers doing she is 10 but she does a lot of sports and thinks they’ll be a pain! But mums of her friends -
a lot have taken them to a tattoo place in town as they do it with a needle and not a gun and it’s less traumatic to the ear drum apparently.

Check on your local pages for beauty therapists.

They’ll have a much cleaner set up and probably be cheaper than Accesorize for the exact same piercing system/earrings.

I'd go to a tattoo/piercing place and get it done there rather than a shop that uses a gun.

Bitzee · 01/08/2026 16:41

The one near me does but it’s going to be with a piercing gun, which might be just about acceptable for firsts and seconds but with thirds you’re probably getting close to cartilage so I’d honestly find a piercing studio that uses a needle. Will likely be cheaper and better quality jewellery too.

I had mine redone recently and went to a body piercing place. Much better than when I've had them done with a gun before. Less painful and they are healing much more quickly.

A needle is better, but the eardrum has absolutely nothing to do with it. It is deep inside the ear canal and is completely unaffected by whether your earlobe or cartilage is pierced with a needle or a gun.

This is such a good point
I had mine done in house of Fraser in a little beauty treatment room - off the shop floor I remember it being very clean

ear piercings with a gun in a shop with lots of germs isn’t ideal really. I think the advice on here about a piercing studio is good advice.

Canonlythinkofthisone · 01/08/2026 16:49

All these shops are crap and use guns. Go to a trained piercer. Normally within a tattoo parlour and get then done there. They'll be level, hygienic and cheaper

greenbean80 · 01/08/2026 17:12

Trained piercer only go to a tattoo palour,

RampantIvy · 01/08/2026 17:18

Superdrug does ear piercing, but it is better to go to a professional piercing studio.

mtobrokeme · 01/08/2026 18:12

You need a proper trained piercer. Not a shop assistant with a gun and a made up certificate.

Google tattoo/piercing parlours near you and then research the best.

I got my thirds done in Accessorize about 3 weeks ago! Yes they do it with a gun but the girl was well trained and I'll be honest I barely felt a thing! 3 weeks on and I have had zero issues. I have other piercings on more cartilage-y areas done with a needle which were more painful but I think that is down to the area of the ear rather than the type of piercer. I'm glad I went ahead and got them done in Accessorize. Honestly it has been virtually painless!

GreenFootstool · 01/08/2026 19:36

Find anywhere that uses a needle, guns are shite.

incrediblyincredible · 02/08/2026 09:19

thanks all. Just googled and our local FHinds does it, you just pay for the earrings and not the piercing. Might pop by there.
