Highlight regrowth quick fix? (Pic)

I’ve left it too late to get my highlights redone before I go on holiday. Has anyone had an OK experience with any sort of at-home way of lightening up the T section? My hair is actually clean in the pic but I feel like the dark roots always make it look greasy.

I probably have no choice but to embrace the ombré look…

When is your holiday ?

I tried to do this in reverse - putting low-lights into the lighter section at the bottom as I wanted to avoid having the colour done every couple of months. I tried my best with some (temporary) toner that is just the right colour (I know, I used it to tone down the highlights at first and it matched my old colour perfectly until I had got used to the new look).

I faffed around with squares of foil and a paint brush true hairdresser style but unfortunately it didn't work. I was too clumsy and the foil kept slipping off, so like you, I am embracing the ombre look for a while until it grows out. It did give my existing colour a nice golden glow but did not make it any darker.

The experience gave me a new admiration of hairdressers and how easy they make it look!

A spray of the blonde dry shampoo on the roots each morning will help.

Which one do you recommend?

I use the Batiste blonde one, it's not a perfect fix but it can definitely reduce how obviouse the roots are.
