Everyday trainers with wide toe box and arch support recommendations

Hello! I’m not completely sure whether this is the right place to ask, since ‘stylish’ may be a stretch, but I’d appreciate any advice.

I'm after some trainers for everyday wear (not sports) that have a wide toebox or preferably anatomical shaping, but aren’t barefoot shoes as I need support for high arches and I can suffer with plantar fasciitis. Does such a thing exist? And if they do, are there options that don’t look like othorpaedic shoes? Thanks in advance.

Do you wear Birkenstock sandals too? I'm wondering how similar the footbed feels, as I love the molded shape of arizonas etc

Maybe take a look at Moshulu trainers? They claim all their designs have foot-shaped toeboxes. Can't vouch for them personally as I don't wear casual trainers (I just use retired running shoes when I want that kind of thing) and their stuff is mostly a bit colourful for me.

I've got both and, although I like them for wearing in the evening, I would never wear the Bend ones for all day or longer walks. I also need a wide toe box (nice bunion developing) and have ridiculously high arches.

Just got some Regatta ones - really great for both your requirements and they have a sale on right now.

They come in blue and brown, I've now ordered both colours.

I can recommend superfeet insoles. Either the green full insole or the black 3/4 one. You will need to remove the shoes original insoles.

It's the same footbed. Most of my shoes / boots / sandals are Birkenstock. I even have their slippers.

Adidas Speziale accomodate my bunions and have a raised bump to support the sole. Most comfortable non-exercise trainers I have ever had.

I know a PP mentioned these but Keen are my go-to. A lot of the styles mentioned by others are not enough cushioning for plantar and some definitely not wide toe box. I would say prioritise a rocker sole above all else - Keen do some good ones. This is my specialist subject, so I’ve tried many! My absolute saviour for plantar was Oofos. I started with the trainers and slides but now have every version. Wear something cushioned (like Oofos slides or slippers) in the house as well. Wide toe box too. Hope you find something that works well for you.

I second Birkenstocks - all my shoes are Birkenstocks! I have a couple of pairs of the Bend trainers, sandals, clogs, and some walking boots too. They are the perfect shape for my feet. I also like that the footbeds are removable so I can also switch them out for my custom orthotics if I want. But I generally find the footbed has enough support built in.

Not fashionable but Brooks are great trainers. So supportive.

Brookes are a wide foot runner and some are suitable for plantar fasciitis

I bought some Fitville trainers from Amazon so that if they didn't fit or I didn't like them then I knew the return would be easy. They're great, maybe not as trendy as some of my other trainers but this heat has made my feet swell so the Fitvilles are perfect.

I recently bought a pair of Hoka Bondi trainers to help with pain in the ball of my foot caused by my usual walking shoes and they’ve been great (no more pain) and they have a wide toe box.

Hoka i recently bought these they’ve been a game changer for my knees and foot support - wide toe box I’m a 5/5.5 and I ordered a 6.

DB Wider fit shoes, www.widerfitshoes.co.uk, have a good selection of everyday trainers with roomy toeboxes for diffetent shaped feet. A UK company based in Northants. I got a pair of sandals in the sale recently and really like them.

It's worth checking Amazon for both Vionic and FitFlop. The prices sometimes vary according to shoe size, so if you've got the right size feet you can pick up a bargain.
