Ibiza dress for 40 year old?

Trillio · 30/07/2026 20:30

I need a glam-ish dress for a night out in Ibiza. This is tricky as im definitely not an "ibiza glam night out" sort of person! Its for a nice bar/club, so I want to be able to dance and not get too hot, but also feel a little bit special compared to everyday dresses.
Im short, size 8/10, small boots, small waist. Happy to show arms/legs. Im 40 and while I don't believe in having to dress a certain way, I also don't feel comfortable in many of the brands i used to wear when i would go out dressed up! I tend to suit blues and pastels but im open to suggestions. Max budget £150. Help!

Have a look at https://www.neverfullydressed.com/?abtr=true&view=eab-pucVcrB2QG

Their stuff is very Ibiza coded. Even if you don’t find anything quite right, it may at least give you some inspiration.

I recently bought a dress from them as a first time customer for a family holiday to Spain and was impressed with the quality and fit.

Hope you get sorted and have a fantastic time. I did Ibiza in my late 20s, with a large group of mates for a 30th and absolutely loved it - we stayed near Playa d’en Bossa. Sadly at 44 I think my Eden and Pacha days are now behind me! If you get the chance, visit the Ibiza Old Town - has some lovely bars and restaurants and a much more chilled vibe compared with Playa d’en Bossa and certainly San Antonio.

I think that there are so many different ways to experience Ibiza so different people wear different things. For those saying no boho I def dress in the more boho way and don’t feel out of place in Ushuaia or pikes. They key is feel comfortable and just be yourself. Loads of lovely ideas on here so pick the one that most aligns with your style.

When I was there 4 weeks ago, there was lots of sequin skirts/shorts with plain vests, short playsuits in bright colours and sequins.

but it does depend on the place you’re going. We didn’t go to the big clubs but we went to Lio’s which was quite glam & fancy and WikiWoo for supper club which was more fun, comfy, cute & dressy (like a “girls night out” type place)

Honestly you can wear whatever your style is, I wore a shortish floral print (small floral ditsy) dress with doc martens and I wasn’t alone last time I went to an Ibiza club 3 years ago. Sequins were popular, but equally plain

I’ve got the navy and white polka dot version of this and it’s lovely, but personally wouldn’t choose it for a night out in Ibiza.

I do love Nobody’s Child though - I’ve bought loads of my holidays dresses from there over the last year.

I’m just back from Ibiza as a group of 40 somethings. Anything goes! Within our group some wore sequin skirts, vest tops and trainers and others wore short floral dresses, or maxi dresses with kitten heels. I did notice a lot of country/ cowboy styles (boots or tops with tassels) mostly with the younger ones.
Just wear what you’re comfortable in. We went to one big club, a sunset bar and pikes.

My sister lives in Ibiza and her advice is wearing something that you will feel comfortable wearing in high temperatures. It’s been incredibly hot in Ibiza recently and the sun is intense.

@EleanorMc67the silk whistles options all look nice, will silk look sweaty though?! 🥵

I think everyone clubbing in Ibiza will be sweaty!!! But I swear by Mitchum Ultimate - it's brilliant. The dresses are all sleeveless too, so you won't get armpit marks - & will also be less sweaty to wear than any of the polyester clothes suggested.

Clio Peppiat dresses are my go to for Ibiza, the dresses are beautiful and definitely make a statement. Annie’s in Ibiza have done a colab with Clio Peppiat too. They are over your budget but you could try and get a dupe maybe?

JuliettaCaeser · 04/08/2026 22:55

UNRVS was air con and very high tech so not that sweaty really. Pacha too.

These see through things are beyond tacky

Maybe - if it's polyester mesh & all you're wearing it with is a Brazilian (if that), à la Bianca Censori.

Partially transparent, layered clothing (with the right underwear/slip beneath) can look great if it's done well. And is really in right now (again). The white Whistles x Hai dress is semi-sheer pure silk. Layering in the same colour (with a white strapless short slip) is the most low-key way to wear it IMO - & is the opposite of tacky.

I think a lot of the women at Copenhagen fashion week would disagree with you.
