Ibiza dress for 40 year old?

I need a glam-ish dress for a night out in Ibiza. This is tricky as im definitely not an "ibiza glam night out" sort of person! Its for a nice bar/club, so I want to be able to dance and not get too hot, but also feel a little bit special compared to everyday dresses.
Im short, size 8/10, small boots, small waist. Happy to show arms/legs. Im 40 and while I don't believe in having to dress a certain way, I also don't feel comfortable in many of the brands i used to wear when i would go out dressed up! I tend to suit blues and pastels but im open to suggestions. Max budget £150. Help!

Which bar/club is it? As a lot of them have specific rules and dress codes.

This is very boho Ibiza back-in-the-day - lots of colours too. Polyester - but so little of it I can't imagine you'd overheat!

There are lots of other longer satin/lace slip dresses around though, if this is too short.

I like this Hai dress best though. White semi-transparent self-patterned silk. If you can't buy & wear a bright pink silk/lycra bra & pants set to wear under it for a night out in Ibiza, then when can you?!!!

I cant see any rules on the bar website but im assuming most people im with will be fairly dressed up.

I was in Ibiza for my 40th at the start of the month. I found looking on the venues instagram page (on the tab where people tag the venue) to see what the general consensus was for outfits, helpful.

one night I wore a short silk t shirt dress, another night I wore a sequin mini skort with a vest.

Which venue is it?

Take a look at Kerry Lockwood’s instagram she was there recently and had some lovely outfits. If I’m not sure what to wear I look at the insta of the bar I’m going to so I can get an idea of what the vibe is. I love how people dress out there but I do think it’s usually a laid back glam - probably because of the heat!

All too flowery and bright.

Last night older women were wearing darker colours - shorts with cool top. Some sequins. Anything really except bright flowery dresses. No boho.

Older Ibiza veteran here, the clubs don’t have dress codes as such but a bit of glam goes a long way (though not too much). I’d avoid patterns and go for simple - think black slip dress with gold sandals and gold jewellery, beautifully cut shorts with glitter sandals and a nice airy blouse or top and jewellery. Have a look at Reiss maybe or similar brands

Check out Sarah Jossel on Instagram. She seems to have spent the whole summer celebrating her 40th in Ibiza, at least judging by the amount of posts 🤣 But her outfits are 10/10, nice variety, tasteful yet unique + stylish, and she says where they’re from. Some are M&S so not inaccessible either.

Might be some good inspiration for summer vibes

I went to Ibiza last month. I’m 51. Genuinely anything goes. I was quite casual with long skirts and vest tops. Check out free people all their stuff is lovely.
