Wedding guest - cream blouse

I’m a casual dresser and very unhappy with my weight at the moment.
Got a wedding early September so I assume it will still be warm.
I have a nice new silky cream shirt I would like to wear with some fancy trousers (still to be found).
Is cream ok if not top to toe?

Yes, but not top to toe generally. Look for trousers or a skirt in a different colour

When sitting, all people will see is the cream blouse. If that is all you have and you can't buy something else, I'd have a bright, large necklace to break it up.

Providing the wedding is for a totally sane and reasonable couple ie Bride then yes of course it’s okay. If the Bride is of an unreasonable disposition then unfortunately not.

A white shirt and a black skirt, to a summer wedding. Not great, she looked like waiting staff (she normally looks chic).

She did, and she looked like she was off for a shift as waiting staff at a restaurant. I would say a cream blouse would be OK with patterned trousers, or a bright shade like orange, purple, cobalt blue. Not black/navy. Or cream.

If you don’t want to invest in a wardrobe atm, invest in something that doesn’t change with your clothes size- a colour analysis to find your best colours. It will make you feel amazing and have people saying how good you look. It’s unlikely to be cream.

My DD wore a white blouse with a pink skirt to a family wedding earlier this year. No one looked askance at her. It looked lovely and not at all bride-like.

Presumably all the men wearing white shirts look like the bride then. 🤔

Just wear an all cream/white dress and be done with it.

I see this as no different to a man wearing a shirt and trousers. If it’s a lesbian maybe avoid otherwise I see no issue!

Yes it’s absolutely fine, with non-cream trousers or skirt. (Red or burgundy would be fab by the way).

The don’t wear white rule is to avoid anyone thinking you’re the bride.

There is very little chance of people thinking the bride is the person wearing a cream blouse and coloured trousers.

I won’t be anywhere near the top table and will only be on the big group photo.

Personally I would choose a colourful top as I can't stand white or cream and it doesn't suit me.
