If you work on your feet, what are your favourite trainers

Starting a new job, it's 12-hour shifts on your feet the whole time apart from lunch, I would love to hear people's favourite trainers that save their feet during long shifts?

I have these, I work 12 hour shifts and I’m on my feet probably 14/15 hours each day.

They are safety shoes, so non slip and steel toe cap, the non slip feature isn’t great I’ll be honest, but that could be down to me working with oil all day. If you work in a dry environment I wouldn’t worry about it.

They are very comfortable though, a lot of support and cushioning, very light given their steel toe caps. I’ve been using them since April and I’d buy them again.

Mustangs.

On really long shifts (15+ hours) I swap my shoes for Crocs. I have red ones.

Switching from work shoes into crocs at the end of each day is almost as satisfying as removing a bra after work.

Mine are cow patterned. I really want to get some of those little clip on things that go through the holes.

New balance ones. Got a second hand pair from a charity shop and wore them everyday I worked at Wetherspoons. They’ve seen some shit and I also walked to and from work about 6,000 steps each way so they were doing probably about 15,000 steps, four days a week for 4 years and they’re still going. They look fucking crusty, but I still wear them for in the garden because I have a weird emotional attachment to them.

thank you! I love a croc and could walk for miles in them, but unfortunately can't for this job, trainers only sadly. Thanks for the recommendations, going to have a look at them all now!

I believe in changing your shoes at lunchtime. No shoes are comfortable for 12 hours at a time.

Sketchers

Phineyj · 30/07/2026 21:47

Skechers arch fit for the commute to work then Hotter Jewel for work (teacher) - they no longer make that style but have similar.

Mousespoons · 30/07/2026 21:48

Lots of vet nurses wear sketchers

Pennyfan · 31/07/2026 11:26

I hate Skechers. Too spongy-I like a firmer footbed so use walking trainers. My old La Sportiva Raptors are fantastic for all day.

Nike air force ones with insoles for my plantar faciitis inside

New Balance 327s.

gianfrancogorgonzola · 31/07/2026 13:32

Vivobarefoot. There’s a cost to those bouncy cushioned soles over time. Dr Courtney Conley is worth a follow / read on this.

AnitaCam · 31/07/2026 13:35

I like cork sole sandals most of all but this doesn’t help much!

BoredReceptionist · 31/07/2026 13:57

Hokas. Bondi 9s for preference. I absolutely love them.

newmenewwhatever · 01/08/2026 14:19

Sketchers or crocs

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 01/08/2026 14:34

I’m a nurse, sketchers are comfortable and wash well 😬

LuLuRN · 01/08/2026 14:35

Hoka challenger, I’ve had several pairs.

ayao · 01/08/2026 19:33

Thank you all, I'm going to go for some sketchers and then potentially get a second pair, of hokas after first pay day!
