Anyone else finding even low heels uncomfortable after having children?

I’m not doing it because I don’t want to put in my email,address but we’ve been talking about this at home recently. I’ve got two daughters who are 19 and 23. Last summer was the first time that heels came up on their radars as really, they haven’t ever been in fashion their whole lives. Last summer they started wearing low ish heels and then in the winter I started wearing heeled boots again. Definitely for the first time since I had dc. Twenty years ago I would have worn heels for work or for a whole day out without even thinking about it. I’m not struggling to wear heels again now, but I wouldn’t wear them for a day at work anymore.

totally agree! I used to wear them every day and loved them but now I cannot deal with the pain anymore!

I was lecturing for a whole afternoon in heels and I could barely walk to the car park afterwards!

I usually only leave the house for appointments that might last a few hours, and for which I will be seated most of the time. It wasn't only the students who learned something that afternoon 🤦‍♀️🤣

Edited to add for work!! Clearly I leave the house for longer amounts of time in my actual life 🤣

I don't think it's having kids , I think it's stopping wearing heels for an extended period. I stopped during COVID and can't wear heels post COVID due to not being conditioned to the discomfort.

Yea, so do I. We wore them because it was the fashion and it was the norm. Then we’ve stopped for two decades and worn trainers. Now heels are back and we aren’t used to wearing them.

Not straight after having kids. More like aged late 40s onwards.

Am always amazed when seeing quite old actresses and members of the royal family tottering around in high heels 👠 stilettos and the like.

It depends on the heel, low block heel, perfectly comfortable. Low kitten heel, torture.
