Marks mess

So I bought some new ecru side stripe joggers from Marks and Spencers online which arrived today.
I opened the package to find a well worn pair of smelly joggers with a big stain on the front and skid marks on the inside!!!!
Ive never seen anything like it.
I obviously put a complaint in and will send them back but my confidence in the company has really been knocked.
Customer services said they were going to launch an investigation because it was unacceptable.
You might expect this from ebay or vinted but never Marks.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Well it sounds like they are going to investigate what happened, which is the important thing. My confidence in a company would only be “knocked” if they dismissed my problem and didn’t do anything about it. Presumably they will give you a refund and / or replace the product. Unfortunately you do hear about things like this happening with online deliveries, stuff slipping through that shouldn’t be dispatched, but it’s what the company does about it that matters, surely? At least you stand a chance of some redress with M&S, unlike an individual on Vinted or eBay 🤷‍♀️

That is unbelievably weird. Someone has either worn it with the labels still on and had a major accident and sent it back. Or someone had a major accident, sent it back without labels and they’ve attached new labels and somehow not noticed the stain and skid marks.

either way they should be checking returned goods. Unless someone in the factory did it as some form of dirty protest?

I hope they don’t accuse you of doing it.

someone on tiktok recently sent something unworn and clean back to next and they accused her of returning it covered in shit. Refused a refund, charged her a £30 fine and terminated her account. She’s adamant it was clean when sent back.

I bought some black leggings the other day from there for £22. They have tiny holes in the fabric like a mouse got them. I need to email them as I think especially for the price it's not acceptable.

Customer services were quite outraged about it to be fair. If it had just been the stain at the front I would just have put it in the wash but the skid marks were too much for me.
Im sending them back and they are sending me a new pair. They have sold out but they found me a pair in a Brighton store which was nice.

That sounds like a good result.
