I am giving up for this year on finding the linen trousers I really want (slim-fitting straight or slightly tapered). Poetry has more or less the right style, but only in a heavyweight linen that isn't suitable for hotter summer days. I don't want another pair of trousers that flap shapelessly around my legs and make my waist disappear unless I wear short, fitted tops. I don't want pleats in the front and I don't really want an elasticated waist. I've now tried just about everything that looks even semi-suitable and return postage is mounting.
The Whistles trousers aren't close to what I really want, but if they have enough shape at the waist, the tapering at the bottom works and they are not so high-waisted that they look ridiculous if I wear them with the waistband sitting on my hip bones I'm starting to think they might be less sack-like than everything else I've tried. I would be interested to hear from anyone who's bought them or tried them on, particularly if you're a similar shape to me (slim, slightly pear-shaped). Also in whether the navy blue is as dark as it looks in the photos.
