Eyeshadow primer & eyeshadow that “sticks”

I’ve been using the No7 eyeshadow primer but it still doesn’t make my eyeshadow (also No7) stay on. Can anyone recommend a good eyeshadow primer and/or a brand of eyeshadow that stays on please?

Do you use setting or fixing spray?

I don’t generally bother with eyeshadow primer, although I do use a primer on my face before doing my makeup. Occasionally I use a bit of concealer on my lids but I find it changes the colour of whichever eyeshadow I’m using.
But I do use setting powder and setting spray every day and my makeup doesn’t budge (eyeshadow, mascara and eyeliner or a variation of the 3)

I also like eyeshadow sticks, Laura Mercier, Bobbi Brown and the new Charlotte Tilbury ones are great. Or the Lisa Ellerie Lurex eyeshadows have great lasting power as well

NYX The Face Glue primer is brilliant. I use it on my lids as well and my eyeshadow doesn't budge. I have very oily eyelids.

The MAC eye primer is the best I’ve tried and the Armani liquid eyeshadow is a perfect long stay non-creasing product.

@moleeye I don’t use a setting spray but it’s not that the eyeshadow disappears midway through the day - it doesn’t “stick” whilst I’m applying it.

thanks @Plump82& @SparkletasticI’ll look out for the NYX & MAC primers, but I expect that if I looked up the price of Armani eyeshadow might be a bit beyond me.

@Sparkletasticooh, 20% off the Armani liquid eyeshadow at Boots at the moment. Does it blend well with other colours? Every time I’ve tried a liquid eyeshadow or a crayon eyeshadow, i can never get a different colour of the same type to blend in the crease.

Barry M eye primer is great

Also like the Mac eyeshadow primer, found lasts longest if you give it 30 seconds or more (doing other bits of face) before applying eyeshadow.

I prime my eyelids with concealer, then set with a powder before going in with eyeshadow- it really lasts this way (and makes the colours of the eyeshadow show up much better).

I must have oily eyes as nothing lasts for me - the stuff

Is quite drying but makes things stick around a bit longer for me

Mac is the best. Too Faced second. Urban decay third.

Tbh I am obsessed with the Cashew shade as it is the perfect ‘one and done’ so have never tried mixing it with other shades. It does look lovely with a shimmer powder shadow on the inner corners though and I just tap that on top with my finger.

I use a MAC pro longwear paint pot in Painterly as my eyeshadow base then use eyeshadow sticks or liquid eyeshadow. Works brilliantly.

I do this as well with the soft ochre colour. It completely neutralises my dark coloured eyelids - as soon as I put it on, it makes me look more refreshed.
