Heated gilets

Wasn’t sure that a heated gilet question was quite right for ‘style and beauty’ but I hope it’s ok to post here!

I am so so cold from about September onwards in the UK and so considering buying a heated gilet to get ready for the 9 months of winter as soon as this heatwave breaks! Can anyone recommend a good heated gilet? And also, does anyone know whether normal power banks for charging phones and things work to power a heated gilet or whether I have to buy the specific one that comes with the gilet as they seem quite expensive.

honestly the best thing I've ever bought for cold (and I feel the cold a lot!) was a pure alpaca wool gilet. I bought it in the summer when it was less than half price from Brora but there's probably cheaper alternatives. I would part with most things in my wardrobe before this. It traps the heat in the fibres - mother nature knows a thing or two.

I work outside a lot in winter, lots of colleagues have these. Varying price points and honestly they all seem to have a similar number and placing of the heated wires in them so I'd buy one that fits your budget.

I ended up buying two of these, it's the heating element inside the gilet. I sandwich them between my baselayer and jumper so the heats close to my body

I have one. They are great

In my house there's a regatta heated coat, a heated gilet, a silent night heated hoodie and a heated shawl.

They all run on regular power banks.

If it's cold in the house the hoodie is my favourite. Got it from lidl was about £25, I already had powerbanks.

Bosch. Not pretty but very effective. They're powered by spare drill batteries. My dad has a few but he got them free from Bosch as he's a power tool enthusiast/ influencer.
