Cover-ups for summer dresses

Why is it so hard to find a cover-up?

Have any of you found a stylish cover-up for summer dresses, which are not the dreaded boleros?

Personally, I love a pashmina, but I know that they have Aunt Petunia at a wedding connotations.

Have you bought/spied anything this year which does the job? Thank you on Gurus 💐

Would a kimono be useful.?

What’s the purpose of the cover up? If it’s to hide arms I’d just buy a longer sleeved dress.

@madaboutpurple Do you know what? That’s a great idea, I think that would look modern.

@lookatmylifeChills! I’m cold-hearted. But I like to try and catch the sun outdoors, at a pub lunch as today’s example.

I have a very light knit ‘poncho’ from Zara a long time ago and it’s perfect. I saw someone on insta advertising one last week and o think it was possibly from Amazon or the like.

Do you mean you like to wear summer dresses but get cold easily so need a cover up for when you aren’t in the sun?

depends on the context really. Pub - lightweight cotton or linen shirt or jacket. Garden party could be a wrap. Doesn’t have to be a pashmina. There are lots of wraps in different fabrics. Cashmere is a bit warm surely. A lightweight cardigan can look good. Either oversized like a grandad style or a neat boxy one depending on your style.

Beautiful kimonos, amazing quality. Over a dress is a staple look of mine
