I accidentally found a shampoo/conditioner that works so well for my hair but I can't afford it!

I had a gift card voucher thing for an online shop and had to spend it, I just randomly chose some shampoo as it had a bit of money off in sale, then a voucher code and my gift card made it free.

I didnt have my glasses on and thought its a big bottle for that price! (£30 RRP for set of both)

They arrive and its just 350ml bottles. I almost sent it back as £15 for a 350ml bottle of shampoo is cream cracks to me! But figured it was 'free'.

Oh my gosh. My hair is so soft. It smells so nice and its shiney! I don't even have to use my straighteners to tame it.

But that is so expensive! I can't possibly justify it forever 😭

Its the hairburst brand, in the 'dry damaged hair' formula.

Does anyone know of anything similar? Or used this and found a cheaper alternative?

Same brand but other varieties seem to start around £12 per bottle with free delivery.
What price point are you hoping for?

I started using Faith in Nature a while ago. Usually around £7.99 for 400ml but they often have good offers on - 3 for 2 with free delivery was the last one I got. Have a browse on their website. Worth a look.

My friend got me and M&S summer beauty bag last year as a gift and there was a couple of really lovely things in there that I could quite easily have wanted to use on a regular basis.
Ive caved and I love a particular night cream but what I do is flog old clothes and stuff on vinted and then any extra treats come out of that money 💰

Vinted is good for beauty stuff.

You deserve nice things. Ask for them or vouchers to buy them for Christmas and birthday, keep an eye online to see what sites they come up on sale or where you can use a discount code.

You can’t justify it or you can’t afford it?

Your hair is something you wear everyday so hanging it look nice and healthy may be justifiable on a cost per wear basis?

If you can’t afford it then could you list the ingredients and we could maybe see what it’s likely to be in it that’s making it so good and suggest something similar. I suppose it also depends on what you’ve been using previously, solely us that -if it’s something cheap it may have a lot of cheap surfactants in plus silicon .

I spend what most people might say is a lot on my shampoo/conditioner but since working out how to care for my hair properly (it's very curly and for most of my life was horrific unmanageable frizz 😬) I only wash it every 4-7 days depending on what I've been doing. So a 350ml bottle would last me a really long time. Could you look at your wash routine to see if you can cut down washes?

Hmm. I probably can afford it but I'm just used to grabbing whatever is on offer or something cheap in B&M. I previously felt fancy when buying that gold Pantene 🤣

The vinted idea is a good one, I have a bag of DDs clothes in the car ready to go charity shop inc some hollister jeans and tops, I could probably raise £30 from that bag I think, it would ease the guilt.

I do treat myself, I do have 'nice things'. I recently got new GHDs and I went to the Levi outlet store and got a few pairs (£60 for 2!) but for some reason shampoo just seems like an unnecessary splurge when there are probably 6 different bottles in my bathroom now.

But I really can see a difference so maybe it's worth it.

You deserve to have things you like, that are a treat, even if it’s a regular treat. I’d give up maybe a lunch out a week to have the shampoo I wanted if it came to that. I don’t feel guilty ordering one nice lunch a week, and I wouldn’t feel guilty buying nice shampoo and conditioner instead. Or, I’d just buy it and not give up anything else for it, because it’s ok to just buy things you want for your own self care stuff.

But if you cannot afford it and can’t make a swap from a different treat then it just sucks really, and it’s also ok to have a minute of going “it suck’s that everything is so expensive.”

I actually find that the purple head and shoulders supreme is the only thing that tames my hair, and I’ve used brand that are £30 a bottle. You might find something else that works for your hair.

That is a great idea but my birthday isn't till December but I will definitely stock up on it if I get asked what I would like.

It’s worth it! I find I use less than my son and my bottles last months compared to his that last a fraction of the time.

if you can see a difference then its worth the price. I use aussie shampoo as a second bottle after my clarifying shampoo which is cheaper. Have a look around on amazon, I often find bargains on there. Tesco also do good clubcard deals on aussie which is mainly where I buy it from.

Ooh its £20 delivered on amazon with the S&S discount, I have a gift certificate due for a return too if I get my butt up and go to the post office.

Also I knly have a chin length bob so am not going to wipe a bottle out too quickly (justifying 😁)

I had this problem when my DD stayed for a few nights and I used her Olaplex ... gorgeous but so expensive.

I have seen some good deals about and been tempted before but I think there are alot of fakes about and sometimes I wonder if things really do live up to the hype.

The only other problem is sometimes I find the first couple of times I use a new shampoo/conditioner, it's absolutely great and I get really excited and then it peeters out and is the same as the cheap stuff. I've only ever spent <£8 on one bottle though so that may be why 🤣

But there also lots of scammers on vinted filling up empty premium product bottles with cheaper product.
