Turn up's

I've just found some jeans I'd forgotten I had. They look good and I'd like to wear them with turn up's to look more ' summery'.
2 questions 1 where do you think the length should hit? Mid ankle?
2 have you found a temporary way to secure the turn up so it doesn't unfold?

I like it just above the ankle, and I've put a few stitches in the inside and outside seam of the turn-up to keep it up.

An inch above the ankle bone for me looks best, if they’re straight leg they should just stay, if wide legged you’ll need a few stitches or one of those Amazon stitch gun things

It's turn ups. Plural, not possessive. No apostrophe needed. You're welcome.

You can get little Velcro stickies on Amazon for this. Not that I’ve used them but I’ve seen Melissa murrell (personal stylist) on instagram talk about them!

@squashyhat Aww thanks love. I'll sleep better tonight knowing that.
Thanks for the helpful replies. They are wide legged so I've ordered a stitch gun.

@Birdsongsinging Thank you, I've just had a look at her insta. I like her style.

As they are wide legged I would turn them up far enough that it looks deliberate and not ‘my trousers are slightly too short’. That probably means above the ankle.

I’d google wide legged cropped jeans and look at images. See which effect you like best and copy that.

WhatFlavourIsIt · 24/07/2026 14:48

@SoScarletItWasYep definitely want a deliberate turn up. I've been playing around with different lengths. I can't believe I forgot about these jeans. I've been searching for something just like them and there they were just hidden under a jacket.

I love it when you find something you've been looking fir and it turns out you have, it will feel new all over again!

@BloodyRoses ,thank you so much for your service, that was brilliant!

It's turn-ups with a hyphen, in fact. If you're going to correct someone, at least get it right. (Or just don't correct them!)
