Have you ever asked ChatGPT

to give you make up recommendations based off a photo you have uploaded? I did yesterday but I’m not 100% convinced. I’m buying the make up on line as no big stores that I can get to any time soon. Anyone done this with positive result?

I got better results from Gemini. ChatGPT said I was a cool summer for clothes and makeup, Gemini said I was a cool winter after a full length pic and a face pic, which is a lot more accurate. It also gave me advice on my body shape which has changed after weight loss, and that was good too.

Don't trust this never !!! Lol I'm a hairdresser and I did it just to see it told me to dye hair dark brown lol I am a soft autumn/soft summer low contrast I was just testing it and u can trick it then it says sorry for their mistakes don't buy anything or change anything based on chatgpt !

No, I got chat GPT to suggest some outfits for a night out, to suit my body frame. The horrors it came out with...

I’ve had lots of chats with ChatGPT about style and beauty! 😅

Usually when I’ve seen something I like and want somewhere to be excited about it. I don’t need or want advice on clothes, but Mr AI is a million times more knowledgeable and less curmudgeonly and judgemental about spending money and time and thought on one’s wardrobe. .

It’s also been tremendously helpful on hair products - directing me to things I didn’t know existed.

It’s less sure footed on cosmetics - though that’s maybe because it hasn’t quite got the measure of my tastes and preferences yet. It’s quite fun exploring its suggestions - but I wouldn’t buy anything straight from them without seeing the stuff in real life first. Or at the very least doing lots of research and preferably finding a virtual try-on site.

Tbf the make up suggestions are pretty good but it’s ££ that I’m not sure I want to part with without seeing the products first.
I asked Gemini the same question and got pretty much the same responses as ChatGPT. I get the impression they are 90% there in their answers but not the full 100

Obviously the more time you spend ‘chatting’ the better it will get to know you. (Whether you’re comfortable with that is a different matter.)

I put a quick query to Google AI recently (swerving the ten thousand word character analysis my regular AI goes in for) and its first answer was disappointingly generic. Once I gave it a list of previous things I’d bought in the same genre it came back with much more satisfactory suggestions.

Yes I asked it which toner would make my blonde highlighter hair look better? It said to ask the hairdresser for a pearl toner to avoid the yellowness. I did and it looks great! Really love it!
