Just that really? What have you done that has really worked or that you can't go without? A product or habit or anything that you think has really helped you to look better. I am just in a bit of a rut and want some inspiration! Thanks!

She's in Perthshire in Scotland so maybe a bit far but DM me and if she's not right for you then I might know someone else. x

Would it be possible to DM me with details too please?

chatgptmeup · 24/07/2026 03:47

I put my photos into chat gpt and asked it what I should do with my hair and bingo. Looks so much better

chatgptmeup · 24/07/2026 03:52

I use the cer 100 hair mask and hair oil @Francestein has posted and they’re cheap and amazing. I use another one called olaplex no. 3 hair care and it’s epic but expensive.

Buying a fantastic hair oil. I have long hair, and when I hit menopause it started getting really frizzy and breaking off. I got really embarrassed about it and considered having to go for the chop. Tried tonnes of products unsuccessfully and wasted lots of money. Then I found a hair oil which has brought my hair back to life. Pop it on 10 mins before I wash it, then I add 2 drops to my conditioner. Bliss. I love my hair again.

That sounds good. What's the hair oil please?

Tiptopflipflop · 24/07/2026 04:10

Mid 40s and look younger now than I did in my 30s (very obvious in photos) thanks to:

  • Dermatica tretinoin every evening followed by a rich moisturiser
  • vitamin C, moisturiser and SPF 50 every single morning.
  • eating a primarily wholefoods based diet.

Very recently I've added in very subtle botox for my 11s and laughter lines. I put it off for years, I was terrified of having a frozen face. But I haven't told anyone and have had lots of people tell me I look really well. Wish I'd done it sooner as it's really helped my confidence.

My ADHD meds have brought my baseline weight down by a stone which is very handy. I'm now an 8/10 rather than a 10/12 and I love it.

My contribution to this thread is Frownies (used for a few hours while sleeping) and Dior Nail Glow for an everyday manicure.

Can I ask if anyone has found a hair product to deal with dry, frizzy, coarse menopausal hair that isn’t full of silicones?

There's a thread at the moment about whether expensive shampoos are worth it which might help. Tons of recommendations.

Cranial osteopathy, especially for my shoulders, neck and jaw - my head is way more relaxed and it shows.

My husband stopping snoring so I sleep through the night.

Eyelash dye.

A great hairdresser.

Vitamin C/sunscreen/retinol.

I forgot to mention that I have also been using Korean protein bonding hair products. They’re amazing. I have kind of adapted Abby Young and Professor Blowout’s advice to suit my cat hair fine hair, but with quality products that suit me and my budget. My hair is longer, stronger and healthier now than it was in my 20’s and 30’s. I have also stopped getting foils. My hair is honey blonde and it’s actually a nicer colour without them. I think they have been washing me out as well as damaging my hair.

What’s this magical advice of which you speak?! My hair sounds like yours and I’ve never fears of this xx

Another thing - exfoliation. There are lots of products and methods available and different skin types require different products and processes but removing dead skin and bacteria and sweat etc (from all over the body) religiously almost every day is excellent for skin health. I never need to go to the pedicurist or manicurist as my exfoliation régime keeps on top of everything. I put oil on my nails and cuticles every day too.

Dorothyperky · 24/07/2026 06:19

One of the best exfoliating products is Aldi for men. Blue tube.

I went through a few weeks of no fizzy drinks and crisps (my vices!!) and then no screens/ tea after a certain time, loads of water and proper sleep. I randomly had so many people in work/ family telling me I was glowing. It only went on for a few weeks though as doom scrolling returned and the inability to drink a lot of water regularly (I work on a till).

Morepositivemum · 24/07/2026 06:33

Oh forgot to add I moisturised my body daily using rituals once for about two weeks and my skin was AMAZING! It got tid of those purple dots you sometimes get on your legs in winter and definitely improved circulation. I don’t know if it was the product/ habit or both

sHREDDIES19 · 24/07/2026 07:12

Vinted for clothes, strength training for toned body and reducing cellulite, tretinoin and azalaic acid for skin/beauty. Results from 3 months for me.

ImGabbyHello · 24/07/2026 07:28

That sounds like exactly what I need - what brand is the oil please?

StrawberrySundaes · 24/07/2026 07:28

Losing weight
Using GHK-Cu (injectable peptide)
Ditching alcohol

Another vote for buying clothes made from natural fibres.
I won’t buy anything unless it has a good dose of something like cotton or linen in it.
I iron my clothes too.
I also wear the clothes I want to wear, I don’t care if it’s in the current seasons colours, or if it’s trendy.
I wear sunglasses a lot and a moisturiser with SPF in.
I don’t dye my hair and it’s in better condition. I get it cut regularly.
I embrace the natural colour.

EBWhite · 24/07/2026 07:44

Silk Hair bonnet at night. It is a game changer for my hair, which used to last a day after a wash and blow dry and now goes for 5 days looking perfect between washes. I was one of those people who thought I’d never find a solution for how difficult my hair was before wearing this

Wearing what I want instead of the school mum's uniform, no judgement if that's what you like but it really wasn't me. So I wear my band t-shirts, dungarees, Hannah the Plumber trousers and Docs, have pink hair, tattoos and piercings and completely comfortable 😍

I think I love you ♥️

Floisme · 24/07/2026 08:10

I iron my clothes too.
So do I. I know it's seen as a badge of honour not to by some posters, but I really don't see the point of going to all this effort with diet, hair & skin care and then not bothering to iron your clothes, especially if you're also going to the trouble of seeking out natural fibres. (Edited to add 'especially if...')

Me too! I am an ironer, I just can’t leave stuff! And you can tell in a lot of cases!

momager22 · 24/07/2026 08:18

Colour analysis
Natural fabrics
Buying a hand held steamer
Botox
Boxing to improve the look of my shoulders and upper arms
