Looking for a handbag that is not…

Dare I say it - frumpy! My trusted across body leather bag just feels wrong.
I’ve been looking at those ‘half moon’ corduroy bags that you can wear sort of over your chest a bit…
Any ideas, please? For context I’m 48, wear dresses a lot but also jeans. I carry a lot of stuff so bag needs to be big enough and not a tiny little speck.

Dd got her half moon bag in Uniqlo (spelling) it is nice and she takes it everywhere.

Have a look at Uniqlo. Their half moon bags were really popular and supposed to hold a lot despite being quite small. It looks like they don’t do their corduroy ones anymore though.
They also have a couple of nice slouchy shoulder bags that look good.

I have a small backpack all my life and will never use a handbag. I don’t even bring that most of the time but I definitely would not be walking around with things in my hands, absolutely no way.

From experience the cute half moon bags that are worn high across the chest are not suitable for us ladies that have boobs !
it made me look like I had three !!

I’m aghast at that article on the “girl grip”! That can’t be a real thing people are doing, can it?! I’m a middle-millennial so not ancient by any means, but I literally feel a thousand years old reading that. Also, surely none of these women live in London and take the tube doing that? You’d be mugged within about five minutes!

I bought a half moon bag more for security reasons when I went travelling and didn't want my valuables on my back and now I wouldn't be without it! Primark or Uniglo ones are good. It doesn't hold loads of stuff but is fine for phone, keys, tissues etc. I can get a water bottle in it if needed but find it a bit heavy to carry that way.

That size is nowhere near big enough for me but I did get a larger size one from Uniqlo which has been brilliant.

I can confirm that the half moon bags look ridiculous on the large-of-chest. I am failing to find an alternative though. I either wear jeans and fill my pockets, or stuff everything in my bra (classy).

Now there’s an idea - bras with extra room for handbag stuff. And little pockets for organisation. Gap in the market???

Because if you can't fit a bottle of wine in a handbag is it even worth buying??

I think the Uniqlo cord ones may come back as we go in to autumn. I have a big chest and wear mine just under my boobs.
