Semi casual wedding guest dress inspiration for someone who's terrible at style

I'm hoping someone with better taste and fashion sense than me can help 😅 I'm a guest at a wedding in August and am searching for a dress. It's more on the casual side of weddings in terms of venue and the couple wanting people to wear what they like and feel comfortable in.

I'll be around 9 months PP by then and am carrying a bit of extra weight around my arms, tummy and hips, so ideally I'm looking for something short sleeved that skims over my lower half. I'd prefer a midi/maxi length, although I am classed as petite so often midi dresses turn out to be maxi on me. I will also be wearing flats as for the life of me I've never been able to walk in heels 😅

Apologies if this is really awkward, I've never been the best at styling myself, especially for occasions and even more so now PP.

Thanks in advance!

What sort of colours do you prefer? Budget?

Day to day I tend to lean towards darker colours, but I'm pretty open with colour/print for this dress! I'd say around the £50 mark....I realistically probably won't wear it again because even a casual wedding dress will still be more formal than what I wear 😅 I live in t shirt style dresses at the moment and will probably sell the wedding one on afterwards if I can.

Too casual?
August might still be really warm so personally I wouldn't want to wear anything polyester!

Ooh I like the style of this! I've actually never heard of that website but from a quick browse, can see they have some lovely dresses and in my price range too. Thank you!!

No worries!
I'm 5ft so I've bought from Roman Petite recently and was pleasantly surprised by the material and petite proportions.
