Poetry sizing - any advice?

I have never bought anything from Poetry but like the look of some of their linen trousers.

i am sick of ordering things online after checking the size guide, only to find that in reality the size is much bigger.

I am petite but a true size 8 around the waist.

Is Poetry generally true to size?

Anyone?

If you look at the size guide for the trousers it gives the garment measurement.

I've only had a couple of things from them and they weren't 'generous'. They were a jacket and a jumper dress, so I don't know about trousers.

Here's the size guide. The size showing is garment measurement. Their definition of size 6 is further down. (The orange rectangle is my handiwork).

I've got trousers on order - I'll report back when I get the order. I looked at both the size guide and garment measurements and ordered accordingly. Still didn't have the confidence to order just one size, but the garment measurements did make me decide against one of two styles I was considering.

I think they are pretty true to size - not overly generous. I have a sz 10 linen dress bought on vinted and a size 10 skirt. The dress is a perfect fit and the dress is a bit snug but wearable. And that's pretty much right.

I ordered a pair of their trousers a couple of years ago and sent them back immediately because they swamped me. I’m willing to visit a tailor for the hem but they just felt and looked huge in every way. It’s possible that they were the new style of wide-legged and I just hadn’t caught up. I do tend to be behind the times with fashion.

Their tops are fabulous; great quality and the sizing is spot on.

I find their sizing quite accurate.
