Smartish layer for hot and air con

I work in a variety of environments that go from boiling hot, to rather cold with the air con, and relately casual to relatively smart

Im looking for a smart something that can cover my shoulders, possibly something a bit cropped, boxed and fitted as my trousers tend to be wide leg or bootleg. Protect my shoulders from vigorous air con and smarten up if im going into a smarter place.

I have a thin little black cardigan from uniqlo that fits the bill shape wise perfectly but it tends to be a bit too casual and slight stretched. Happy to consider anything from a cardigan to a shirt...

I bought a lovely boxy dark brown linen shirt with half sleeves from Tesco for exactly this purpose, it looks very expensive and kimono-y.

I also got a lovely rusty brown cotton speckled cardi from next that looks quite smart and goes with anything.
