I used the Schwarzkopf Hair Streaking Kit. I’ve used it a few times before. This time it developed really quickly, so I washed it off after 10 mins instead of 40, and this is the result. I’m not sure what I was expecting but it doesn’t look right! Should I have left it longer? I didn’t want it to keep lightening into zebra stripes though! I’m not sure what would improve it. Should I have done more holes in the cap? Do I just need to let it grow on me? Cover the lot with an all over colour? I just wanted to brighten up my natural colour a bit as it washes me out.

NC because I’m including a photo! Please don’t suggest a salon - I can’t go to one before I fly abroad.

I would do it again with a few more holes than you did last time and leave it at least 20 - 30 minutes. It looks like where you had pulled through just a few strands it developed quickly, and then thicker chunks didn’t develop at all (or you didn’t pull enough through to being with).

@VideoVox Thank you I was thinking maybe I should have left it longer. I pulled through every second strand but I did really thin ones as I was trying to avoid it going stripy like it did last time, and I got scared when it all went golden so quickly!

If you're about to go on holiday I'd leave it tbh, you don't want to create an emergency you don't have time to fix!

One low risk thing I would do is put a purple toning mask through to calm down the orange tones and give you a bit of smoothness and shine.

Assuming you're going somewhere warm, a nice hat and practise a couple of up-dos and you're all set!

If its orange, you need the blue shampoo.....voice of experience except it was a full head of bleach!!! Savers, super drug and boots sell it. I wouldnt touch it again given your going on holiday. Our chlorine and overseas chlorine are on different scales. My white blonde toddler at the time, hair went green from a Spanish pool, was very very bizarre but she loved the satchet tomato sauce hair mask wrapped in cling film 🤣🤣

You didn’t do enough holes and didn’t leave it on long enough. It will lift to orange then blonde with the full time. You did need the full 40 minutes. You could just leave it and the holiday sun will lift it a little more naturally.
