Armpits

I am in my early 50s and look after myself pretty well. I love style and fashion. I don’t do any cosmetic procedures but I have Brazilian keratin in my hair, epilate my legs etc.

I have recently wondered about armpits. They are in fairly good condition. I am Asian so they are perhaps a little darker than the rest of my skin but that’s fine.

Should I be doing anything? Do my armpits deserve some love? Does anybody engage in armpit maintenance? Moisturise them? Exfoliate? This is not an aesthetic thing. I never wear sleeveless top so my armpits are never on show.

I just wondered whether my poor armpits were neglected and whether other people show their armpits more love and care?!

My armpits are pretty gross (one is bisected by a lumpy lymph-node scar) but I'm 74 so I don't care - my fear of criticism is in inverse proportion to my age. Perhaps you're on to something though?

Fortunately, I have no armpit-related hangups. I just suddenly felt sorry for them as I have not given them any thought in 55 years.

Just wash them on the regular. Remove or trim hair. Or not.
You’re good to go!

Yes, that’s been my routine to date. I just wondered whether I needed to change strategy!

What would you like to do differently?
Why do you need others to tell you to change your armpit care?

Don’t worry, it’s nothing to get challenging about it. I’m just mildly interested in what other people do with their armpits if anything!

I don’t give them a moment’s thought

I was told mine were dry when I went to get them waxed. The beautician said to put moisturiser on them. Maybe you can do that

I can honestly say I have never really given much thought to how my armpits look or how to care for them. I wash them, shave them, and use antiperspirant. I do wear sleeveless tops and I am more interested in how much definition my shoulders and upper arms have

Actually having lost weight last year, I do now marvel at how challenging it is to shave armpits when you are a normal size, because they really are a cave like pit when you aren't fat, so can be so hard to get in there and shave.

Maybe. Mine are a bit dry I think. What does cream do in the heatwave I wonder; I imagine a sweaty mess of moisturiser dripping down my sides!

I am trying to get definition on my upper arms too; well I’m trying to improve my muscle and bone strength all round after having had a bone density scan last year. I don’t find shaving that easy I admit, and have to perform contortions with the epilator.
