Facial spf?

Forgive my ignorance but I always hear about people wearing spf on their face for anti ageing reasons. Is this just normal suncream or is it special face stuff? The normal suncream is so thick I am guessing it's not that?

”normal” sunscreen isn’t necessarily thick. You can get waters, sprays, lotions, oils, creams, all sorts of formats.

most brands produce a separate one for face but generally whichever you use on your body should be ok for your face to. I don’t tend to buy separate products .

also many day to day moisturisers and many foundations /tinted moisturisers /BB creams contain a low level of protection.

what are you looking for OP?

I use Japanese Biore and Korean beauty of Joseon spf 50. It sites well under make up.

I use Heliocare, spf 50, tinted moisturiser; great stuff.

I use the ultrasun facial spf50 and never get a tan on my face. It not particularly thin consistency

I use Beauty of Joseon too. Regular SPF tends to be very claggy and shiny and doesn’t sit nicely under make up.

Facial SPF is less oily and tends not to sting your eyes (although many still do imo)!

The No7 protect and perfect facial sun protection is excellent. Everything stings my eyes and this doesn't. I think my skin looks good with it too

Yes - you can use regular SPF but facial SPF is usually designed to sink in quickly and reduce shine and a “white cast” effect. I personally use LRP Anthelios Invisible Fluid and it works brilliantly. Sinks in instantly so I don’t have to spend ages rubbing it in.

I spent two weeks in Spain and used No7 Future Renew SPF50 - it's magic, left my face pale, goes under make up like a dream, wonderful texture and it actually improved my skin. I think it's the best facial SPF I've ever had

I use a specific facial one as find it better under makeup. I use the Garnier glow one or calypso once a day. Also have used supergloop as well.

I like Trinny BFF cream and Hawaiian tropic powder sunscreen for top ups on my nose and forehead.
My teens like watered essence.

I use a Bondi sands one, not the tinted one. I think it's worth it, though I wouldn't pay a crazy amount for them. I get spots if I wear normal SPF on any regular basis.

I like the one from The Ordinary. I mix it with my foundation on days I know I’ll be outside a lot

There are loads of fantastic SPFs for face out there these days. Definitely makes a difference.

I currently use La Roche-Posay Anthelios UVMune 400 Oil Control Invisible Fluid SPF50+ however it doesn't sit well under make up in my experience and it is quite spenny. Other than that I love it, goes on easily and my skin looks good too.

Might try out another that sits better under make up to give a different one a go though!

I have the medicube spf 50 glow one. It is amazing, looks great, no stinging eyes, can put makeup on top.
