Shoe ideas for a purple maxi dress at a summer christening

Looking for shoe inspiration to go with this dress: https://www.heritageclothings.com/collections/brand-new/products/pre-order-zene-purple-maxi-dress

It's for a christening in the summer and I don't want really high heels for comfort reasons (unless they're unbelievably stunning, in which case I'll push through). I'm 5'5". I'm important in the service so it can be something dramatic.

I think nude/ peach espadrille wedges would look good for daytime. Op please update us with quality of dress after it arrives as I’d definitely be tempted.

I'd go metallic or nude, and flat would look great. Sandals or closed both fine. Or yes to a nude or pale espadrille.

Nude sandals I love the dress.

has anyone else bought from them before? There’s some dresses I’d love

sunnybaros · Yesterday 16:33

Red flat Mary Janes.

I don’t like peach tones with it. Too yellow. A pale pink is much easier to find and easy to find a bag too. The dress is interesting but has wide hips with lots of material. Definitely one I would avoid.

I’d opt for something you find comfortable because you’ll be standing up. But christenings aren’t showy occasions anyway

@EleanorMc67 Thanks so much for pulling out an example! I think I'm not keen on black but I really like your point about something with some substance, really helpful thank you! And yes good point on letting the dress be the main thing.

Thank you so much for really helpful suggestions @Crackery @WimbleOfWombledon @user1492757084 @Silverbirchleaf (also those Kemi Telford dresses are gorgeous) @LuckyCharmz @WildLeader @Fiendishandfiery @Sgreenpy @concertinacornflake @OneNewEagle @sunnybaros @pelagra

@FruAashild Thank you for the clarifying thought - yeah, I'll have a think about what direction I want to go. I have a habit of everything and the kitchen sink, which can work but might not!

@GLOBALBEES Loooooove those but I think too much for me with this dress.

@PinkMagpie Good point - I don't think I like the peach but I think I need to keep an eye on keeping it summery as it's quite intense.

@Secretseverywhere Will def update on scam status. I'll probably need help finding a backup tbh!

@MeetMeOnTheCorner I'm not doing bag, luckily. And have very wide hips, luckily, and not looking to pretend I don't!

@hahabahbag Yeah, I don't want super high for the standing up reason, as well as wrangling a small child around a church. And au contraire, this christening is very definitely a showy occasion, I'm afraid. We will be GORGEOUS.
