Possible Vinted scam with Evri delivery and tracking postcode issue

Hi, can anyone help with this please.?

I bought an item from vinted, I picked Evri home delivery, it was the only option the seller had, the seller had no reviews and nothing else for sale. This is always an alarm bell, but with buyer protection and being vigilant I thought it would be fine.

the parcel was sent but Evri doesn’t recognise my postcode for the tracking. So something is wrong. The seller isn’t responding, and vinted just say I have to keep checking and have two days to report an issue. Which is fine I shall.

i think it could be a scam, but can’t work out what the seller gets to gain.surely vinted will be able to see it didn’t get sent to me, if that’s what happens.

anyone experienced this before please? I buy a lot on there and this is the first time I’ve had this happen. I can’t work out any other good reason Evri would have a different postcode to mine.

it is definitely Evri home delivery though, as I can see that on vinted tracking.

I haven't had this myself but have had problematic vinted orders and I've just reported it to vinted and waited for them to refund me. They can take a while but generally I've found it's usually straightforward to get your money back if you're happy to wait a bit for it! It's a shame though, unreliable Vinted sellers are sadly more common than you'd think!

Thanks for responding, yes I’m comfortable I will get refunded, and the seller won’t get their money, it’s just very odd. If it was not a scam I think the seller would have responded to my message, but they’ve just ignored me,

maybe it will turn up or maybe they were hoping the two days would pass it would be a buyer who didn’t monitor and they would get their money, sigh,

I have an Evri/Vinted issue ongoing - Vinted think the parcel is at the locker, Evri keep saying it’s about to be delivered

I have to wait 25 days before either will admit that it’s been lost - then I should get my money released but no idea what the seller will get back

very frustrating that we have to wait on the off chance the parcel is found (probably under something in the back of a van)

I had the same issue with Evri - it wasn’t a scam, I think it’s just Evri being incompetent as usual. Mine was supposed to be a locker delivery but it was eventually returned to sender. I got an error about the postcode the whole time.

thats similar my issue, it’s dropped at a locker but coming to my home, I can’t access the tracking as it says my postcode isn’t valid. Evri haven’t picked it up , been sitting there for five days now,they say it’s delayed, but I can’t access more as the postcode doesn’t work..

Yes mine is due to be delivered latest Thursday but sitting in the locker and not collected. I have to either click I’ve an issue within 2 days if it does get delivered but not to me, or wait the 25,

Ah that’s annoying - mine at least links to my home postcode (even though it’s going to a locker)

id guess that the label hasn’t been put on properly or has got caught or folded so that the pick up courier hasn’t been able to scan it.
its therefore very likely “lost” as they won’t be able to send it back to the sender if they can’t decipher the details on the label
25 days to wait ugh!

the seller blocking you or ignoring you does suggest that they know they’ve cocked up

Happened to me last week, didn't recognise postcode, but was delivered without issue. I think their website has some tracking issues.

I’ve also had the post code error today!

Apparently my parcel just missed the van this morning but “don’t worry it’ll be there first thing and I will send you a message there before 11 am”
Which would be fine, except they sent exactly the same message last week!

Apparently mine has now been transferred to a real human who will look into it, at some distant point, and it’s apparently still at the locker. I suspect it’s lost. It’s been at the locker for over a week, but final delivery due date isn’t till Friday, so I guess I will have a long wait on my hands sigh till my money is released back to me.
