Day bag needed for kids stuff

I've got an upcoming holiday (only in England) with lots of day trips. Going solo with two kids, 2 and 5. I need a bag that I can use for a change of clothes, water bottles, snacks etc. Fed up of changing bags and backpacks. Anything else to suggest, please?

I like to use a big cloth tote bag, as long as it is a strolling around kind of day and not a “proper walk”. I make sure they have a proper shaped bottom - the ones where the bottom is just the sides sewn together don’t hold enough and aren’t roomy enough to rummage in!
