Why are young women wearing thick winter boots in this heat?

So I went to pitbull gig at Hyde park which was brilliant, but it was so so hot, and we noticed how many young women were wearing normal summer clothes with boots, not cowboy boots but proper thick soles, to the knee welly type leather boots. Even looking at them made us feel hot.

Mind you there were also people in pleather shorts and flip-flops when the place was like the bloody Sahara

we were thinking there must be halfway between strappy sandals and winter welly boots

I saw that, a woman in black leather shorts, a black vest and knee high black patent leather thick soled boots, in 30 degree heat, to see Lewis capaldi yesterday, Her feet must have been utterly roasting.

converxely I also saw two women, in sparkly mini skirts, and high heels, in the early entry queue, and I kept looking at their feet thinking fuck me you’re going to struggle in a few hours .they were in their 50s like me. I couldn’t decide if they were brave or should know better. They already looked to be struggling just waiting in the queue, from the way they were moving. I guess as you need to walk a fair bit just to get there, and then standing in the queue for an hour or so

i was wearing a pair of onitsuka tigers, which are light comfy trainers, and little invisible socks and my feet felt hot at points, comfy, but hot as the heat was over bearing with no breeze.

I have no idea. If my feet are hot I feel like my head's going to blow off. Im sitting at home with my feet in a bowl of ice water.

Yes seen this quite a bit this year. It's just a fashion.

It's the fashion to wear boots to concerts and festivals and it also protects your feet if you're in the crowd if anyone stands on your feet.

I’ve got two older teenagers whose styles could not be more different but neither of them will wear any sort of summer shoes. Converse are the most summery. I find it baffling.

I didn't when young either, sandals are for adults!
