Seeing mixed reviews online. Looking at a pair of patent Arizonas. Do they rub?

you know they won’t be patent on the inside? so they’ll be like any Arizonas on you? we can’t tell you whether they’ll rub on your particular feet

Wow ok, not sure the tone was necessary but thanks for the feedback. Lots of reviews on Google say they are particularly hard to break in so I thought I'd ask here as I've found MN helpful before.

If your feet are generally ok with Birkenstocks then they won't rub. The inside will have a fabric coating/lining. I have a few pairs in different styles and not had any problems.

I was wondering about this too OP as I fancy some patent ones.

I ever only ever had suede ones.

I had a pair of patent Madrids and found they really rubbed my feet and never managed to break them in. Absolutely no problems with other Madrids or Arizonas.

I found the leather a lot harder and not as soft as non patent Birkenstocks.

🤷‍♀️

I have a gold pair and they don’t normally rub at all however on Thursday in the heat they cut my toe for the first time ever and were really uncomfortable- I also have the soft suede Arizona straps and wore those this week too and they were absolutely fine.

Thanks everyone. I was going to buy them and wear them next weekend for something so that plan is going in the bin!!
