Hit me with your best waterproof mascara that I can wear whilst swimming and sitting around the villa pool so I can feel a little more attractive on holiday than a hot, fat, sweaty menopausal mum 😬

I've been using the maybelline sky high waterproof mascara and it's so great that I can't actually take it off. Worn it from 6am every day during every heat wave until 7pm at night and not a smudge.

Any advice on how to remove it though? Don't fancy losing any more eyelashes.

FreddysFingers · 09/07/2026 20:56

I use Revolution wrap lash mascara, it stays put until you remove it with warm water - it's a tubing mascara so it won't come off with just a splash, you need to douse it in water for it to move.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 09/07/2026 21:01

Maybelline bubble is good for volume. Revolution wrap lash tubing is nice, L’Oreal lash paradise is nice and so is L’Oreal double extend tubing. 2000 calorie waterproof is rubbish. The Dior show waterproof isn’t worth the money either.

All these are waterproof or tubing.

Yes that’s nice but it gives me more a natural lengthening look.

I’m sure I tried that and it was nice. No 7 bi facil (2 phase) or other oily eye makeup remover is good.

Another vote for Maybelline Sky High Waterproof.

Garnier do an oil based makeup remover but you can only buy on eBay online now. It’s good and removes eye makeup including waterproof too.

RampantIvy · 10/07/2026 18:15

Would you consider having your eyelashes dyed instead for your holiday?

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 10/07/2026 19:03

If anyone wants to try Maybelline snapscara (tubing) it’s not brilliant imo.

I’ve tried so many tubing and waterproof mascaras since my eyes aged and got oily. And unless it’s for a special occasion the high end ones aren’t worth it. I do like non waterproof and non tubing Lancôme Monsieur Big though.

I keep seeing people recommend this so I tried it, ended up looking like a panda! I can only assume the people it works for don't have oily skin, I ended up going back to my trusty waterproof great lash.

Ah yeah I don't have oily skin lol, probably why it works so well, my skin is dry as a bone and even worse in this heat 😩

I'm going to try a few different ones to see which ones I like, will try and get a hold of this one! Tried a Nivea one today and it worked but wasn't amazing and took some scrubbing lol

Yeah you don’t want to scrub! I use mine with my reusable makeup remover pads.

Body shop camomile cleansing balm and the elf equivalent work

Sophiecunninghamsfinger · 10/07/2026 19:25

I use that too. It needs an oil cleanser to remove it. I use the Nivea eye make up remover. Or even my body shop oil cleanser.

I use Superfacialist cleansing oil, gets it right off and doesn't sting your eyes

I apply one coat then let it dry a little bit before going in with another couple of coats, which gives more volume :)

worldshottestmom · 10/07/2026 20:02

Life saver thank you! Saves me buying a million brands to find the right one haha

Justanopinionnothingmore · 10/07/2026 20:08

Stay perfect mascara no7. Never comes off at all when am swimming.

Hot water and cleanser removes it.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 10/07/2026 20:48

That is good. Only thing I don’t like about it is you wash it off.
